We will stay there again! - posted on 03/19/2007
We found the hotel to be more than satisfactory. The room was clean, the shower was great and the staff was wonderful. We would definitely stay there again. Within walking distance of Central Park and easy access to subway.
Are You Kidding Me? - posted on 07/26/2006
This hotel is absolutely BRUTAL. They said parking on site, Ya if you count 2 city blocks away on site. The graffitti on a door in our room was a nice touch. So were the pipes sticking out of the wall with unsanded drywall. STAY AWAY............

The rooms are cramped.Hotel needs a complete overhaul. Incredibly poor value for my money.Best aspect of the hotel was the front desk(very helpfull).
Uptown Hotel Downside Hotel - posted on 05/17/2006
This Hotel is atrocious. The rooms are cramped and need a complete overhaul. Wallpaper was falling off draw handles were missing carpets were stained and threadbare. There was mould around the windows tiles were missing foam around aircon hanging off and I found an ant trap in the cupboard. I cant believe I paid ?100 per night for the staying in what could be described as a seedy doss house - incredibly poor value for money - I really think a visit from health and safety would help! This would certainly not be tolerated in the UK and I would advise anybody to give this place a wide berth

The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. It was almost impossible to shave without feeling your face with the other hand. The windows were filthy on the outside. We were the only ones checking out at the time and it took two women 25 minutes to check us out.
Worst hotel - posted on 04/22/2006
This hotel was so mickey moused. It was a maze just to find your room, there was no cable, the room was so crammed you couldnt even walk around a bed, the rugs were gross, the view out the windows were just atrocious, overall it was a terrible stay.
SMALL - posted on 03/08/2006
The location was close to the park. The rooms were so small you could barely move. It was an old building that they crammed as many rooms in a possible. Will never stay there again.
2 nights on Broadway - posted on 10/04/2005
Hotel looked like it was undergoing some kind of refit and it surely needs it? Room was small & dingy and nothing worked properly. Hotel had no breakfast and even though you are on Broadway and the Subway is close (you are still a long way from most things) Best aspect of the hotel is the front desk(very helpfull)
avoid this hotel at all costs - posted on 02/24/2005
my family stayed at this hotel recently and the rooms were absolutely filthy, there were no smoke alarms, cigarette burns in bed sheets, windows taped down, gaps in windows were plugged with old towels, the heating didnt work and despite numerous calls to reception it wasnt fixed, staff were extremely rude and ignorant to put it mildly and loads of students stayed here and created loads of disturbances banging on doors and being extremely noisy i would seriously avoid this hotel at all costs believe me, to be honest i would rather stay in a tent.....
A GREAT EXPERIENCE - posted on 02/18/2005
We travel to New York several times a year, both for business and pleasure. The hotel was convenient, the sub way was right accross the street. It was in a good neighborhood, I felt very safe and enjoyed the neighborhood. The only drawbacks were small /old elevators and we were expecting a gift shop and it was closed down perminately.

hotel says that have a data port, but none exists. They offer a connection to your modem for $1/minute. Sleep there only, bring hair dryer
