Great Hotel - posted on 06/27/2006

Great hotel - great room - great room service Check-in folks most helpful - lots to do in the area - boating, cycling, shopping, eating, wonderful bldg next door for coffee, Chinese food, fast food, subway was close, only a couple of blocks - lots to do and see, and the most important thing - in the evening it was so relaxing to be so close to the water (Hudson River) and see the boats and the lights in NJ. We spent a day on Broadway, and Times Square, but it was nice to get back to the serenity of our hotel and its location.Oh! and great complimentary breakfast - pancakes and omelettes cooked the way you want. Food was good.

Better - posted on 01/20/2006

We have stayed here twice. We will ALWAYS stay there when visiting. The second time was better. Desk gentleman bent over backwards to get us in earlier. The beds were SOO COMFORTABLE. The pillows and comforters were outstanding. I'd like to know what they are made of. Thank you. OH!! The sleeper couch was the only downfall. Lumpy! VERY lumpy. Thank you.

Brillant hotel we stayed for christmas - staff really helpful - they even allocated our friend a room beside us. Only disappointment was the lines for Breakfast from 26 Dec to end of our vacation

Financial District hotel - posted on 05/11/2007

My wife, four year old son and I (first timers in NYC) were here for a weekend. The hotel itself isn't very close to most of the tourist attractions but it was beautiful and had a movie theatre and several eateries in the same building. Staff helpful amd friendly. Our suite was nice and spacious. The free breakfast buffet was a big draw for us and helped save $$$. A shuttle to the airport would have been nice (the cab ride was a whopping $45 each way to and from JFK airport). Only other gripe would be low pressure on the shower but otherwise a fabulous hotel experience.

Best kept secret in NYC - posted on 04/11/2007

I visited this hotel with my elderly mother (her Christmas present from me) and I wouldn't change a thing. The rooms allowed us to stay together and have our own space. The staff was phenomenol. The location is great for long quiet walks on the river and is convenient for public transportation to get anywhere in the city. I would recommend to anyone! The breakfast was excellent with a great selection. Will definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel in financial district - posted on 03/25/2007

Modern, clean hotel with large rooms. Great (and free) breakfast and Cocktail Party. 3 long blocks from Subway (A,C or E), but keep in mind, after business hours & on wkends, there aren't many people in area. Across street from Hudson River - nice views. Irish Bar with food, 2 blocks from hotel.

Great Hotel - posted on 03/24/2007

I stayed here for a week in February. The service was exceptional; the rooms were well appointed and nice; and the ammenities were outstanding. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding, a great way to start the day. The complimentary evening reception in the Broker's Loft was a great way to end it. I would definitely stay here again. It is an extremely nice hotel. The two-room suite offered plenty of room for my family.

Everything was perfect---awesome breakfast buffet, super nightly reception, and great internet cafe. The staff was helpful, the rooms were spacious, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel itself was gorgeous with many amenities and there were many local attractions and easy access to other attractions. I would definitely stay there again and again!

Great Hotel for NYC - posted on 12/30/2006

Room was large and beautiful and location was quiet for Manhattan but convenient to buses and subways. Service was flawless and the free breakfast and free cocktail hour were icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

great Stay - posted on 12/15/2006

This is a great hotel, the location is in a very quiet neighborhood and there's not to much to do nearby but it's alright if you have everything planned since you need a taxi in NY anyways. The rooms are great (suite types) the only thing is the parking rates ($ 55 every time you park your car, no ins and outs) I would stay here again since the prices I got were great compared to the ones they give you at the hotel.

Great food and fun - posted on 12/11/2006

We loved staying at the Embassy Suites with our two daughters. We had our own room and they slept on a sofa bed in the living room. They watched Disney Channel and we could watch what we wanted! Great breakfast buffet included -- good food and nice setting. Subway nearby (3 blocks I think) also. Great family getaway. Playground next door.

A great value and it's a very nice place - posted on 11/09/2006

I've stayed there 3 times. Check out Century 21 for great designer values. Next to Ground Zero and an easy walk, cab ride or subway ride to everything you need. It's pretty peaceful compared to Mid-Town Manhattan, but you can easily get to Mid-Town to take all of that in. Walking along the water is wonderful.

The hotel was nice. Rooms were clean and well kept. The free daily breakfast was a nice way to save money each day. Not much within walking distance though.

Great breakfast - posted on 08/28/2006

I stayed here in Aug with my two teen-age children and my 25 yr old sister. We had a harbor-view room that was nice. There is a lot of construction in front (those rooms won't be harbor-view for long) and back of the hotel, but was quiet on the weekend. Best part is free breakfast. Lots of choices and food was good. Get there early to beat the crowds.. 4 cross- town blocks to the nearest subway station.10 dollar cab ride from Penn Station. Quiet location. Rooms very clean. Deli restaurants attached to the Hotel .

Great Value - posted on 05/25/2006

Stayed at this hotel for three nights and couldn't been more satisfied. Our room was very accommodating for 3 adults. You don't have to walk very far for a subway to take you almost any place. Cabs are right at the door. If you want to order pizza the front desk has a menu for a place. Pizza was good. The only negatives we had were the bathroom lighting is horrible as far as putting make up on. We will certainly stay here again. Views were wonderful--even on the side where they were doing construction.

New favorite in NYC - posted on 05/03/2006

Very pleasantly surprised at the room and hotel. Was visiting my son at NYU and the suite gave us a place to hang out and catch up without having tiosit on the bed! Worked out at the fitness center and enjoyed breakfast very much.

Good Experience - posted on 04/18/2006

I thought our stay was very nice. The rooms were clean. Friendly help. The location is good. A small walk to the subway station but not bad at all. The subway is the way to go. Taxi from the airport is high but will be no matter where you stay. Close to the Statue of Liberty. Buy tickets in advance and get there early. Would recommend and will stay here again.

Nice Hotel But, - posted on 01/21/2006

The dining experience was less than adequate, not only dinner but breakfast as well. Food was cold and took a long time, not to mention you could not get a waiter for a drink hardly at all. The room was okay but not very clean. We do a lot of traveling and I was disappointed. Emabassy Suites is usually one of the best and our first choice to stay. Maybe we had a run of bad luck! We may consider your hotel again.

Doormen and room service - posted on 01/20/2006

Arrived - no doormen on the job -literally dragged our bags into hotel - at 73 yrs. old. Very bad. Other cabs arrived - same with other check-ins. Holiday weekend should have been covered.Room Service: Every order we placed (at least 2 daily) they managed to get something wrong - irritating and unprofessional.Otherwise, loved the room!

great for families - posted on 06/15/2005

We were somewhat skeptical about staying so far away from all the action at first. But when we got to our room and saw the size of the suite, 2 adults & 2 kids, we were amazed. We have stayed in much more expensive hotels in NYC and could hardly fit a rollaway bed or air mattress in because of the tiny size. so this was a real treat. Outside there was any activity for children of any age. A playground for our 5 year old. Basketball, volleyball for our 18 year old. Close to subways. We walked all the way to China Town. We had a great week and will return.

What a trip! - posted on 05/10/2005

We visited NYC on our honeymoon and always stay in Embassy Suites. At first skeptical to stay downtown (away from the action), we decided to go for it....So glad we did! The rooms are beautiful, a wonderful view of the Hudson River kept us entertained at night. The downtown area is amazing--we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is close to the subway too. Staff--wonderful. Rooms were clean and bright. Will return here without a doubt!

The Best Deal In Town - posted on 03/23/2005

This hotel has it all. Located right in Battery Park you have a beautiful view of the Hudson, Statue of Liberty and a nice place to walk and watch the sunset. They offer a wonderful buffet style breakfast which also includes cooked to order eggs. They also have a 2 hour happy hour every night. All guests are given full access to the Gym located in the hotel which is huge. Wonderful place/people don't hesitate to stay here.
