Customer Reviews for Marriott Marquis New York City

Great Location - posted on 05/29/2007

The location couldn't have been better. Housekeeping needs a lot of improvement. They just did the bare minimum of making beds every day.

Well done and much enjoyed! - posted on 05/16/2007

We really enjoyed staying here in the heart of Times Square. The room was excellent and the staff very helpful. Upon returning home I realized I had left a set of keys in the room. The staff located them and sent them to me. We could not have been treated any better nor enjoyed ourselves more.

Great Hotel - posted on 05/16/2007

Beds were comfortable, plenty of room inside the rooms. Staff was helpful and friendly, let us check in early. Elevators were confusing at first, but we got the hang of it. Did not have to wait long for an elevator. Wonderful view and right in the heart of Time Sq. I would stay here again.

I was staying here for a conference and was very impressed with this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel had a nice fitness center with a great view while you work out. Overall this was one of the best trips I had ever taken and this hotel was a big part of it.

Awful - Stay Away - posted on 01/20/2007

Two words - rude staff. You can expect to wait 90 minutes to check in. You will not get the confirmed room. Your Marriott Gold status will mean nothing to the hotel staff and management. Bathrooms are nasty. When I arrived, I found a sock in my bed from the previous guest - the sheets were not changed. - STAY AWAY

Great Experience - posted on 01/02/2007

I had a business trip and brought my 16 year old and her 17 year old friend. They were able to explore the Times Square location without any worries from me. The area is so full of police and people and there was plenty for them to do without adult supervision. Location, Location, Location!

My stay at the Marriott Marquis was very pleasant. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet are on the expensive side for what is served, but it is New York.

Marriott Marquis: Marvelous! - posted on 11/23/2006

If you're planning a trip to NYC you've got to consider staying at the Marriott Marquis. The rooms are attractive, spacious, clean, and within walking distance of Broadway shows, great restaurants, and other must-sees.The hotel itself has fine restaurants, friendly and helpful staff, and great access to taxi service. You won't be disappointed staying here!

We generally stay at Marriotts and this was one of the best we have ever stayed at. Our corner room was spectacular and every detail impecible. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and willing to help immediately. Great care given to their visitors. Very impressed!!! We will never stay anywhere else in the city. :)

This hotel provided excellent sized rooms, very large for a New York Hotel. The service was absolutely excellent and was always given with a smile. They truely took time to make sure that you felt cared for. The hotel is safe and located in a wonderful location in Times Square. It made for a great stay in New York

Loved just about everything! When eating the breakfast buffet, they should have told us food would be taken up shortly. We arrived @11:15 & food was gone @11:30. At $27 per person, I was disappointed.

Our family went to NY 7/06 just before the heatwave and we were BLOWN AWAY with this property's location. It is in the heart of TImes Square, 5th Avenue, Broadway, and all the major tourist spots. We didn't use room service, health club, or public facilities because we were too busy touring the city. If you're looking for a great hotel with a great location. THIS IS THE ONE!!!!

Celebrated 55 yr. B-day & splurged on hotel...not disappointed about choice. Room rates a bit pricey but worth every penny. Rooms had view of Times Square. Beds were heavenly. Unique elevator system with little or no wait time. The best staff in New York-friendly, helpful and courteous. This hotel & staff made our stay the most memorable.

5 Star Hotel with 2 Star service - posted on 07/06/2006

The Marriot Marquis is really accessible. But service of the hotel is bad. My colleague and I stayed for business for 5 days. The key card to the room could not be used after 3 days. Staff at the desk counter and concierage was cold. The worst part was the lift to the rooms. It has the worst possible type of lift technology I've ever seen in any 5* hotel.

The Marriot Marquis is ideal esp. if one has Broadway tickets or wants to explore NYC at the heart of Times Square on out. Easy access to subway, the BEST hotel staff (helpful & able to answer all ques. and needs), relaxing decor, secure, quiet rooms, and two Starbucks on location! Will definatly stay there again!

Superb location, super clean, comfy rooms. The bed is to die for. Didn't have any problems with the elevators and the staff is courteous and friendly. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Right in the heart of Times Square and the teather district. Will definitely stay again in future visits.

This hotel is very comfortable, even luxurious. They now have a fully-equiped gym. The elevator system has been improved, with call buttons that direct you to a xpecific elevator. Check in and check out are quick and efficient.

This hotel was unbelieveable! In the middle of Times Square. Within minutes of literally anything you would want to see. So close to subways! Hotel is beautiful, great bathrooms, beds, elevators are extremely fast, and the view was amazing. A complete wall window looking onto Times Square. I will definately be coming back!

Very Bad Stay - posted on 08/25/2005

Because they were upgrading the elevators only 1/2 of them were working. We had to travel down 32 flights of stairs several times to make our reservations. 1/2 of the escilators were also broke. It was rediclous. They would not compemnsate us for our trouble because we prepaid. I would sugest that anyone think twice before staying here.

This is a nice hotel. Not luxurious by any means, but just what you'd expect for business travel. Great fitness center, and since the elevators are slow you can get an extra workout in by taking the stairs.

Nice Hotel - posted on 05/31/2005

1st time to NY and chose this hotel base on reviews and friends. Very busy hotel but the room was great - large & clean with a great view. We stayed on the top floor (45th), so we were always the first on the elevators going down and rarely waited. We stayed 6 nts and Sat was by far the worst night with the theatre crowds. Can't beat the location as a first time tourist, but next time will find a smaller boutique hotel out of Time Square. The staff were pleasant & helpful.
