The location of this hotel is fabulous if you are visiting New York University. It is close to Chelsea for antiquing and surrounded by great shopping and restaurants on Madison Avenue and 5th. It is spartan, and when I first walked into the lobby, I was a bit concerned, not that it looked seedy, but it was very austere and a bit on the shabby side. But the room was fine, clean, quiet and perfect for my 16-year-old college seeking son and my budget-conscious self.

reasonable for NYC. Very courteous staff.

I was very happy with my experience there.

The Comfort Inn Chelsea is a great hotel choice near Penn Station for business and leisure travelers alike who seek comfort, convenience, and value in New York City. In addition to Penn Station, guests will also find themselves within walking distance to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PATH) 23rd Street Station, the Empire State Building, Broadway theaters, Madison Square Garden arena, and Times Square. The hotel also puts guests just a cab ride away from New York University, Wall Street, the Museum of Modern Art, Chinatown and Central Park. The Comfort Inn Chelsea is well located within walking distance to many of the popular New York City activities and attractions, including Times Square. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, as well as a Whole Foods Market. The hotel itself is located on a street that isn't as crazy and loud as some streets in the city. Staff members are very friendly and attentive. The rooms--while small-- are very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The price is a good value in comparison to other comparable area hotels. The complimentary continental breakfast in the morning is average, which seems to be the only thing guests have mentioned not liking about the hotel.
