I attended this Hotel during the IAJE NewYork Conference from January 10 to January 15th. Overall this hotel was the best I have ever stayed at. The crossroads cafe was rather expensive however the gift shop and other ammenities blew that straight out of the water. The rooms were overall clean. The cleaning crew was also amazing with cleaning the room and restocking supplies. The hotel was about a 10 to fifteen minute walk to Times Square. Overall the experience and the genral atmosphere was amazing. For the rate that I got per night It was the best hotel I''ve ever stayed at.
Great hotel in a great location - posted on 02/22/2007
The Hilton exceeded my expectations in every way. I've stayed at a number of more expensive hotels in New York and found the Hilton superior to the majority of them. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated, and was within walking distance to fabulous shopping, spas and Rockefeller Center. It was also a short cab ride to Times Squre and the theater district. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Below Average for Hilton - posted on 02/04/2007
Stayed here Jan 2007, then again in Feb 2007. Great location for midtown tourism or business. Lobby and dining areas were nice. Rooms were a little dirty and appliances broken, but staff tried to fix things and had ok attitude. Decent choice as a 3-star hotel if the price is right.
Great Weekend - posted on 01/23/2007
I took my daughter for her first NYC trip. Hotel was beautiful, room was fantastic. Hotel staff very friendly. Skip the restaruant. Over priced, staff rude. Hotel close to all major attractions. Will stay there again, but eat elseware.

Spent Thanksgiving week with 1,200 dancers/cheerleaders for the Macy's Parade. Staff very responsive and helpful. Huge room for NYC, always cleaned with towels each day. Great location with great Greek food vendor on 53rd St....line forms early. Close to so many sites in the city. Would stay at Hilton again!

This was my 1st visit to NYC. The location, rooms, staff, and dining were GREAT. Walking distance to most of major sights. I loved NYC! I will be back!
Stay for the Location - posted on 10/27/2006
The location of this hotel is superb. SO close to MOMA and within easy walks of TimesSquare, Theatre, etc. Rating points are pretty much just for location: service was NOT good (we waited in line forever to check in) and they seem to nickel and dime you for everything to make up for OK rates by NYC standards. Stay here if you don't plan to spend much time in the room, but elsewhere if you want good service or nice rooms and restaurants (I'd go for the Waldolf or something similar instead).

I will book my next trip with the Hilton. I receive great customer service. Everyone at the front desk was so professional and kind. overall I enjoy my stay with you
TONS to see and do!!! - posted on 10/16/2006
Great location! Be sure to get a map at the desk, it is a MUST when seeing the sights. Beds are AWESOME! of course exhaustion plays a part too :-) Truly a city that never sleeps, full of excitment at any time of the day or night. Concierge very helpful, and have printed instructions on how to get certain places.. a great help! Would stay there again.

Rooms were spacious for New York. Location was excellent. Housekeeping were rude, seemed to be put out that we weren't out of the room when they wanted us to be. no hand towels. Made reservations 6 months ago and confirmed with one price, upon checking out charged 50 dollars more per nite. Never before had to pay for Luggage to be held - The Hilton charges for that.Three out of 4 days the key wouldn't work when we arrived back at the hotel. Wouldn't stay there again -
wonderful time with one small glitch - posted on 10/15/2006
I had an amazing overall experience. I stayed on a floor that offered executive level services. The service offered by the concierge, cleaning, executive dining, and room service staff was top rate. But it was cold in the room I was booked into, a regular double room. And it wasn't broken, the hotel runs chilly as it's "based on ouside temps." I was given another room, a suite, that was out of this world. Every amenity was outstanding. A great time was had, and I appreciate that the staff did their best to warm this chilly traveler. I'd go back again tomorrow.
Great Location, Clean Facilities - posted on 10/06/2006
Location: This hotel was FANTASTIC! Great location, across the street from NBC Studio/Rockefeller Centre, around the corner from Time Square, David Letterman and countless Broadway shows. Food: Restaurants and deli's in Time Square were pricey compared to restaurants in China Town, Little Italy, Korean Town (entr? for under $10) Hotel: By NYC standards, the hotel room was ENORMOUS! Best feature was the bed, extremely. The hotel must also be commended on how clean and meticulous the rooms were maintained. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely book it again!

The room ,the service, the location it was all great, rooms a little small bath fixtures cheap, and tvs to small, still loved the place , and the housekeeping was fabulous!!!!!!!

The room was small, and bathroom even smaller. King sized bed was extremely comfortable, and shower pressure was good. TV was old and fuzzy and furniture old-looking, too. Very overpriced for what you get, but good for people who don't spend much time in the room.

Stay at this hotel and you will be walking distance (or a train ride) away from anywhere. Very clean and very friendly.

I travel to NY for pleasure quite often. The Hilton is awesome-best location-rooms are newly renovated and great-spacious and great beds. Nice food places and bar is nice as well. Great restraunts locally. You won't be dissapointed. Gotham Grill/River Cafe a must!
Can't Beat the Location - posted on 08/18/2006
A good hotel within walking distance of a lot of shopping, financial, sightseeing (especially Central Park). If you don't want to stay in the Hotel in NY (including dining) this is a great location.
No Complaints - posted on 07/27/2006
We absolutely loved this hotel and were pleasantly suprised by the size of rooms, especially for NY. The restaurants are way overpriced and the food is not worth the price, BUT there are a million places to eat in NY besides your hotel anyway. One thing regarding heat in the rooms...we were there in December and the room got hot. You don't have your own temperature control, so the only choice is to open the window or by a small fan. Unless The Regis and ultimate luxury is your thing, this hotel is really a good choice.

Nice hotel, decent service, forced tipping in the resturante, bathtub had a super slow drain, maid for my room was super hot looking, and the location was pretty good.
Sad Service - posted on 07/09/2006
The temperature in the room was not something one could control. Calling the desk got us a space heater. The hotel desk said, "The heat is off for the season." We did not get towels some days and to get more we had to make multiple calls to housekeeping. Don't eat at the hotel's restaurants! The tipping is mandatory and the service horrible. Wine was $10.00 a glass for Beringer White Zin. (Costs 8.00 a bottle here in Michigan!)
Service is lacking! - posted on 07/09/2006
Faulty air conditioning. Lousy service in restaurants due to forced tipping. No towels on two days of our stay. Windows that would not close. Location is very good.
Plumbing & Housekeeping - posted on 07/04/2006
The toilet was not secured to the floor and moved. The shower did not drain, so you stood in a bath. The shower curtain was moldy. Local TV channels fuzzy.

The New york Hilton is the best value for the money in New york. Great rooms, very good service, and super location. We have stayed there several times and have been perfectly satisfied every time.

Terrific bustling, international, big-city feel to this hotel. The room was clean and business-like with a great view of 6th avenue. The service was fair at best, but, hey, it's New York.

Hilton's location is perfect for walking to most midtown attractions--Rockefeller, 5th ave shopping, restaurants and theatre. Rooms are spacious and well-kept.

Perfect location for theater, Central Park, 5th Ave. shopping, and general Manhattan exploring. We arrived early (8:30am) and were allowed to check in at no extra charge. Very well kept, clean rooms with excellent service.

The hotel staff is allright, not too friendly. Changed rooms twice and the AC didnt work in either. Gave up and went to sleep. Front desk couldnt care a fig about it. Unpolite staff when the phone is answered.

Beautiful, classy, and clean hotel. Comfortable bed. Large room for a NYC hotel. Staff was professional. At check in, the receptionist upgraded us to an executive room for free. Also got free breakfast the next morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay. P.S. I am a NY native, live 20 miles from NYC and stayed at this hotel. If you are from out of town, take it from a real "New Yorka" -nice place to stay and a nice neighborhood too -lots of stuff to do nearby.
Real four star hotel - posted on 08/13/2005
Pretty clean room and nice entertanement facility. I think at the busy hours, which seem to be most of the time, you need more front desk assistants. In general I was most happy with the room and multiple retaurants and bars. An inddor pool would have made this the perfect hotel in town.

Mu husband and I visited for a week in May to attend our son's gradution from Columbia University - the trip of a lifetime. We have visisted New York many times over the last four years and wish we had found this hotel sooner!! Great location, great atmosphere, clean comfortable room - could not have wished for more.
Good location! - posted on 04/20/2005
We had 2 rooms, requested non-smoking, adjoining but upon check-in discovered that our request had been lost somehow. The check-in staff was helpful & able to accommodate our request in spite of the mix-up. Helpful concierge. Nice decor. Fairly spacious rooms for New York City! Very convenient location to Central Park, Theatres, & shopping. Would suggest adding hairdryers in the bathrooms & a small in-room safe.

Great Hotel - posted on 02/17/2005
My daughter and I were in NY for just three nights and we had a great time at The Hilton. Very convenient and within walking to everything. The front desk recommended a poor Italian Restaurant but other than that, we had a great experience. We will be back this year. It was August in NY and the hotel wasn't hot at all!!
A/C Complaint - posted on 09/13/2004
My only complaint was the air conditioning. It was set for 65 degrees but it was much warmer in the room. You could not adjust the temp.
Brilliant - posted on 04/28/2004
Brilliant time....except...absolutely stunned that I was charged to use a hotel gym. I have stayed in Hilton Hotels the world over and all facilities have been included in the cost of your stay. I was amazed to find a charge of $12 for one use of the gym! I myself am a member of a gym which is part of a hotel and guests of the hotel are certainly not charged for making use of the facility. Otherwise we had a great visit to New York and enjoyed our stay at the Hilton.
