About the Excelsior Hotel

When visiting New York, you can either choose a generic hotel, or you can choose a place that gives you a true taste of the city. The Excelsior Hotel is a prime example of the latter. This historic landmark hotel enjoys a highly desirable location in Manhattan's Upper West Side, in a fashionable neighborhood between Central Park and Columbus Avenue. Here, you can look out your window and see many of the West Side's attractions, such as Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The Hotel Excelsior seems to be a hotel with a split personality. Although most guests were satisfied with the size of the rooms, the fantastic, convenient location and the historic atmosphere, the hotel receives an unfortunate number of complaints about staff members who are either rude, arrogant or simply disinterested. In more than case, there was a story of a toilet that had overflowed, but was not fixed as quickly as it should had have been.
