The Amsterdam Court Hotel is owned by the same chain as the nearby Ameritania. Located in a perfect area for shopping and Broadway entertainment, Amsterdam Court is a boutique hotel catering to the guest that wants a classy experience without the luxury price tag. Just three blocks away from world class stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Mikimoto, this newly renovated property is an attractive prospect. Amsterdam Court is easy to reach by public transportation, and is close to several subway lines. Nearby, travelers can wander through Central Park, eat sushi at Nobu, or take in the symphony at Lincoln Center. People wanting to take in art can explore the Museum of Modern Art. This location is also a good fit for those doing business in the nearby Garment District, or for attending the fashion shows at Bryant Park. There isn't a restaurant at the hotel, but food and delivery options abound in the midtown area.
Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?
Amsterdam Court is a good choice if money is an issue, yet an upscale stay is still desired. The small list of amenities is a definite turn-off, as is the crib for a fee. Extra charges like that make it hard for a family with small children, and make no sense when other hotels offer cribs for free. Charging for Internet service also seems odd in this case. However, the rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed, so it could be a lovely option for those without children. Singles will have to go out to party, and there's not much in that area. Amsterdam Court is alright for the money, but travelers could probably find a better deal elsewhere. Read our customer reviews?
Amsterdam Court has a modern decor, unlike its art deco sister, the Ameritania. A small hotel with 110 rooms, the hotel has twin through queen sized beds, with some rooms offering a good view. This hotel also offers business services for guests.
The amenities list at Amsterdam Court is short, but high-end. All rooms feature luxury Belgian linens, color TV with video games, an ironing set, alarm clock, hair dryer, and room service. Refrigerators are available for $20 per day. A puzzling fee of $25 per night applies for crib use. The hotel offers parking for a fee, free newspapers in the lobby and complimentary coffee and tea. There's wireless Internet service, but it, too, has a fee. The hotel lounge has an array of books and newspapers for guest use.
