Solid NYC stay - posted on 05/17/2007
I'm an experienced NYC traveller and this hotel ranked pretty high. A little touristy but great location for amenities like food, drink and fun. Bathroom was small even for NYC standards but the entire place was spotlessly clean.
The Best - posted on 05/13/2007
Our stay at the Belvedere Hotel was the best. Our king size room was very clean, very nicely renovated, and spacious. We liked having the kitchenette as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Close to everything. We would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
ask questions about your room!! - posted on 05/10/2007
This hotel is convenient to everything we wanted to do. But the room it self was not what we expected by the reviews on line. The mirror in the bath was not big enough for any view but your head. We saw other rooms much nicer after a couple of days in the hotel. I guess we just got the short end of a stick. Staff very friendly and made our hotel room able to bear.
Perfect Experience - posted on 05/09/2007
Staying at the Belvedere helped make my first visit to New York City as close to perfect as I could have hoped. The room was clean and bright with windows overlooking the busy street. The employees were as helpful and pleasant as I have ever encountered anywhere. The location was perfect for shopping, eating, and going to the theater on foot or by subway.

Small bu good location - posted on 04/22/2007
This hotel is in a good location to Times Square, the theaters, central park etc. The rooms and bathrooms are small. They did upgrade us to a king size bed from 2 doubles. The staff was very accomodating and the hotel was clean.
Hotel was nice, but loud - posted on 04/21/2007
This hotel is nice, very clean, and reasonable priced. Good location but also loud. I've stayed in other hotels in NYC that had better soundproofing/location. I heard constant sirens and horns blaring all night. Wireless internet ($ per day) was slow. I would recommend this hotel if you are not light sleeper and don't mind constant noise.

We'll be Returning and Recommending the Belvedere - posted on 02/06/2007
What a pleasant surprise! We are frequent NYC travelers for business and Broadway. Only two blocks from the majority group of theatres & Times Sq. Rooms are big and affordable by NY standards...even small kitchen area for leftover keeping, rewarming and coffee. Bell and door man very attentive and gracious. Brazilian restaurant on premises was incredible.
Great Getaway - posted on 02/05/2007
My family and I just spent a weekend at the Belvedere, taking in a Broadway show and other midtown attractions. We would definitely stay there again -- convenient location on a nice block; clean, attractive rooms; family-friendly (refrigerator in room); pleasant service; lots of nearby restaurants (try Amarone's on 9th Ave!). A great value, for NYC. Only suggestion would be to "thicken" the walls and windows -- we could clearly hear conversations and TV noise (that's all, thankfully) from adjoining rooms. Aside from that, a very nice stay -- a great find in the theatre district.

What a surprise! Not onlt was i in a great location, close to broadway as well as 2 subways. The rooms were very spacious for NY standards. My room even came with a fridge, microwave & sink. The hotel is a bit older, but very clean. The staff was very friendly and knowlegeable. TV can be a little bigger, but hey your in NY who watches TV.

Nice hotel but not - posted on 01/20/2007
This hotel's website leads you to believe that it is more luxurious than it is - it has a great lobby, but Comfort Inn-level accomodations. $10 per day extra for wi-fi. Kitchenette was very handy. TV tiny, hard to regulate room temp, beds very hard, cheap linens, but clean. Great staff and location, but not quite at the "boutique" hotel level of comfort / quality.

Safe in room alows you to feel safe leaving your room knowing your personal belongings will not be touched...passport, camera etc.All in all a good time by all.
Terrific Hotel - posted on 09/20/2006
This hotel was terrific. Rooms were big by NYC standards and while bathroom was small, it was spotless. Awesome view. City noise - come on, it's New York, we slept with our window open just to soak up the atmosphere. Had heard the dining room was pricey so we didn't go near it. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance for ANYTHING you may want. Location is great for theatre, subway, etc. After checking out, they graciously held our bags the whole day no problem. This was our third trip to NYC and definately the best hotel yet for price, location and service.

Great Location, close to almost everything we needed. Bathrooms too small. The only problem , and not a big one, I had asked for two double beds and a couch or rollaway and didn't get one, but managed, there were three of us. Would definitely return to Belevedere because of staff and location.

Good Location - posted on 08/07/2006
Good location for $. Fridge/Microwave a definite plus! Rooms small but clean. Beds were terrible--hard!! Window air conditioner difficult to keep temp regulated. Staff not particularly helpful with directions, etc.. We felt rushed upon arrival to get everything out of the car. There were quite a few helpful gentlemen all of whom we felt obligated to tip (one to unload car, one to store luggage, one to deliver luggage to room). Parking was expensive but same as everywhere.
Thank you Belvedere! - posted on 08/02/2006
Our stay at the Belvedere was delightful! We enjoyed being so close to the theaters and restaurant row; very convenient for walking just about anywhere that we wanted to go. Beautiful neighborhood! Quiet, clean, large rooms and a wonderful staff, especially the bellman. We will certainly be back and will recommend to all of our friends.

Would definitely stay here again - newer, clean rooms, great location near theater district and Times Square. Much nicer than others we looked at in same price range. Hotel parking is worth it - remember no in out service! Actually has some style and character. Staff cordial. Elevators small, can be slow.

Great location to Times Square and subway system. Elevators were painfully small and slow. Bathroom was tiny and had a mold problem but the room was fine. Only true complaint was there were 4 staying in our room, yet EVERY DAY we had to call for additional towels and washcloths. Sometimes only 2 sets were left by maid staff.
Very good hotel - posted on 06/25/2006
The Belvedere exceeded my expectations. Very clean, awesome location w/access to subway, restaurants, theatre, Times Square. For family traveler, a laundromat is located 1/2 block away, and numerous small grocery stores was perfect for the Belvedere's kitchenettes.

Nice location, large room, lots of restaurants nearby, no problems with elevator wait as I had read and very quiet-also nice view. Only criticism-had several lights burned out & maids never checked in four days (we kept forgetting to mention at desk but felt it should be routine to check) Would recommend staying here.

This hotel was clean, and the room was pretty big for an NYC hotel. The bathroom was very small, and uncomfortable to be in for more than a shower. The desk staff were very friendly, though, and the price was reasonable. Wireless internet in the rooms was a big plus. The view was ok. All things considered, I would recommend it to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. Walking distance to Times Square and Radio City Music Hall, and everything else in the neighbourhood. Large rooms for NYC. Love the coffee and microwave in room. Love the view. Love the El Sambrero restaurant almost next door (YUM!). Great staff. Great location. Stale smell in room, but easily relieved by opening window. Don't like elevators, EVER, and these are small, but I took the stairs. Unlike a lot of places, these stairs are clean, painted and safe. I'll be going here again :)

The Friendliest staff in all of NYC - posted on 12/20/2005
I love the Belvedere. We always stay there if at all possible. The location is great and the staff is always very courteous. My recent stay presented a problem for me in that I was not made aware of extra person in room fee; therefore, I ended up having to pay extra $102.04 for my granddaughter and my mother. That was an unexpected expense and was very frustrating at the time. Also, I had booked an extra room for my sisters that were arriving the next day and the reservation was cancelled. We were able to work it out but at the time it was very upsetting. I spent unnecessary time trying to work out the problem instead of enjoying my bus tour of the city. I would definitely stay there again

Great location. Only a couple of blocks off Broadway and Times Square. Room was ample sized and clean but the bathroom was very small. I paid the $15/night extra fee for the 3rd person in our group but our room was set up for only 2 people (towels, coffee cups and coffee.) We had a few issues with service requests which were not fulfilled so the management gave us a complimentary breakfast the day of departure.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. They have a separate desk where they will make a reservation for you for dinner at no charge. They picked a restaurant for my daughter and I(Italian)that was great. They also were able to tell us how to get places walking or by cab. They gave us $15 percent off passes for Macys and Bloomingdales. The restaurant was nice for breakfast(buffet). Walking distance to theater and Times Square as well as some shopping. I would stay there again for sure.

Our only problem was temperature fluctuation in the shower.
Best buy in midtown! - posted on 08/04/2005
For the price, I don't think you'll find a better, cleaner hotel in midtown Manhattan. This was my second stay at this hotel. Just about the cleanest hotel I've stayed in ANYWHERE, and convenient to midtown locations while still being tucked away a bit "off the beaten path." Only problem I had this visit was a steady humming noise from outside all night, perhaps from an air conditioning system [not necessarily the hotel's]. The personal air conditioner in my room worked well, which was a good thing considering NYC was having the hottest weather in three years during my stay!

We stayed 4 nights at The Belvedere Hotel in a deluxe room where I shared a queenbed with my daughter. However, a king bed would be better. We were happy with the pantry. The bathroom was small and old, but very clean. For a short stay The Belvedere Hotel is a very good choice, 5 min. walk from Times Square and the subway and busses are excellent!
Better Than Expected! - posted on 11/03/2004
We loved this hotel, and it's very reasonable, considering its location. Newly refurbished, with sparkling-clean tile, it had decent linens and a friendly & helpful staff. The nonsmoking room was truly smoke-free, as well. As an adult "mother-stepdaughter" duo, we had enough room to spread out all our "stuff" and felt completely safe. We could walk to 3 Broadway shows, the "start" location for the double-decker tour buses, and shopping on Fifth Avenue. No hidden charges suddenly appeared at checkout, either. The only warning: the bathroom was TINY. (A big guy would be uncomfortable.) I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it.
