Peakin' at the Beacon - posted on 04/06/2007
If you're going to a concert at the Beacon Theatre, Hotel Beacon is by far the best place to stay. Kitchenettes mean you can pick up food at Fairway mkt and eat at "home".

Nice location; market across street; subway entrance at corner; 1 bedroom suite with mini kitchenette offered extra space not found in typical hotel room for the price of this suite; bathroom small; room interior needed some updating; it had older feel to it, but it was clean; staff was helpful
Happy on the UWS - posted on 12/20/2006
We've stayed in midtown and Times Square before, but really enjoyed this UWS location - close to Central Park, subway, shopping, neighborhood restaurants, etc. The only problem with the hotel was we could smell cigarette smoke from the room next to us, through the bathroom ventilation. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Room size was fine - bathroom also. Great view from our room. Will definitely stay here again.

Great little hotel. A european feel. We will stay again and again. The room was very tasteful, clean and well presented.

3rd time at this hotel and first in 2 years. great location, fairways market across street is big plus, but room is worn compared to previous stays.

The Hotel Beacon is a very good value for a NY hotel. Location excellent-close to Central Park and subway. The kitchenette is a nice feature, and the Fairway Mkt across the street has everything you could need. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Relaxed Upper West Side Retreat - posted on 09/23/2006
The Hotel Beacon has recently been renovated with the small lobby recently redone and many of the rooms brand new. Had a new spacious suite with flat screens in both rooms, kitchenette and new bathroom. Room was great! Not a "slap together" renovation. Location is quiet and close to best supermarket in Manhattan, the Fairway. Zabars & H&H Bagels just up Broadway a few blocks. Best NYC hotel experience I've had, you can finally get a room worth what you pay!
Poor Customer Service - posted on 09/01/2006
No hot water for 1/2 day. Had plans to have dinner at an elite restaurant and couldn't shower beforehand. Front desk rude and unaccomodating.
Will not recommend this hotel - posted on 08/21/2006
Our family stayed at the Beacon because it was close to a family event. In the morning when we woke we found a rat running around our living room. When we spoke with the manager they acted "like no big deal". We were given another room on the 21st floor that the furniture was unacceptable. Torn and dirty couch and the mattress was unbearable. We would have left but we were leaving right after our family get together. Forget the Beacon or bring your own rat trap.

My family and I just returned from 3 nights in NYC at The Beacon. It is a 3 block walk from subway in a safe residential area of the City. Great grocery store across street. Rooms were clean and very spacious for NYC. Better than we expected for a reasonable price!
I'll Be Back - posted on 11/21/2005
I had lived in New York years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find more space in the hotel than I did in my former apartment. The location is excellent for exploring uptown. I plan to be back in New York again soon and will be staying at the Beacon.
Loved the Beacon! - posted on 10/05/2005
Great neighborhood, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. We saved a bundle eating/cooking in from the neighborhood groceries. Close to Central Park and subway station. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Enjoyed our stay enormously.

We had a suite that was spacious for our family. Could close doors from living room and bedroom. Lots of closet space. Grocery stores across street. Many dining options. Subway 2 blks away.

Lots of space, friendly staff, and attention to detail made our stay very pleasurable. Clean rooms, immediate response to requests, great location, I have only positive things to say about the Beacon. And such great rates, too!
HOTEL BEACON - posted on 09/25/2005
THE HOTEL BEACON IS LOCATED AT BROADWAY AT 75TH ST IN A NICE NEIGHBOORHOOD THAT, STRANGELY ENOUGH, IS VERY QUIET AT NIGHT. THE ROOM WAS GREAT, EXCEPT FOR A LEAKY FAUCET IN THE BATHROOM, WHICH I WAS HAPPY TO LIVE WITH. THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE.
Hotel Beacon + NYC = FUN - posted on 08/02/2005
This was my first trip to NYC and the Beacon staff helped make it a great one. They had great recommendations for dining, and were helpful in every way. I had a package arrive after my departure; they made sure I received it at home. Plus, the location can't be beat. It is in a great neighborhood, close to a subway station, and surrounded by great dining options. The Beacon is now my home away from home in NYC.
Excellent base for NYC stay - posted on 07/24/2005
The Hotel exceeded my family of 4's expectations. Short walk to 72nd St station and only one stop on the express #2 train to 42nd St. Kitchenette and excellent grocery stores across the road resulted in cost savings. Easy walk to Central Park. Out of the Mid-City madness. Felt safe.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. This hotel is close to the subway, shopping and a variety of restaurants. The neighborhood market accross the street is very convenient for shopping considering the rooms are equipped with kitchenettes- a great way to save a little money on dining. The rooms are large for New York City and relatively clean.
