One of New York's great hotels, with all the service and amenities you'd expect. Your friends and family will be impressed. The lobby is especially beautiful.

Wonderful luxurious hotel in the heart of
mid-town Manhattan. Attentive and helpful staff,
no waiting for elevators, no waiting for cabs.

Having stayed at the Waldorf twice before, we have enjoyed its excellent location and beautiful, elegant lobby. The rooms, however, are in need of being updated, and are extremely dark. Everything was clean and service was good.

The Waldorf lobby and general areas are like something out of a classic movie. They are absolutely beautiful. The rooms though could use an upgrade. The bed is comfortable and the decor is stylish but some of the standard rooms can be a bit musty. The larger suites seem to have held up better.
The spa is wonderful and they truly know how to help you relax and feel completely pampered.
The service is above reproach. This staff will go out of its way to make sure your needs are met. All you have to do is ask. And the dining options are wonderful. The Bulls and Bears is a delightful "old boys" type steak house within the hotel. Peacock Alley has an amazing brunch that was more affordable than expected.
The location of this fine hotel cannot be beat. It is within walking distance of Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, shopping and art galleries, the theater district, Grand Central and many of New York's other fine attractions. And the concierge is there to help you make any arrangements that you need.

Although I think everyone should stay at the Waldorf at least once, the rooms really do need a face lift. The beds are very comfortable but you have to realize that this is an older hotel. If you don't intend to spend that much time in your room, the ambiance of the hotel in general is amazing and the service is out of this world. They really do go out of their way to make sure you have a fantastic stay. Plus the location can not be beat. You can get to almost any major New York attraction within a few short blocks. So weigh what is important to you. If a fantastic location, food and service is important to you then stay here. If you prefer a bigger, more modern approach then look elsewhere.
