Life in a closet - posted on 04/10/2007

This is not the hotel for you if you are claustrophobic. The rooms are too tiny. We had a room with 2 single beds. The entire time we were there, the hotel key system did not work. We moved from the originally assigned room because there was a strong smell of urine as we entered. Our 2nd room had a dirty bedspread which was taken out at our request, but never replaced. the entire time. The key system didn't work during the 3 nights we spent. The only chair was a desk chair which could only be used if the bed was pushed out of the way. The closet was a small hole in the wall.

Needs renovations - posted on 02/16/2007

The room was terrible - cramped and smelled moldy. It was worse when I laid in bed, I guess I was closer to the smelly carpet. The ac/heater was loud, sounded like hammers. The bathroom smelled moldy. Also, the cabinet doors holding the tv would not stay open - I used the ice bucket to keep one door from closing.

Hot and Tiny - posted on 11/28/2006

AC broke twice and finally moved to another room. The first room was small, the 2nd was even smaller. Probably where they send complainers. I reserved a queen/non-smoking-got a dbl. When questioned they said it was a '"NY queen"! Absolutely awful!!!

Avoid sofa beds - posted on 06/27/2006

Had a Junior suite for 5 to celebrate my daughter's 21st. Room was a great size; bathroom clean and large. Only complaint but major one was the sofa bed which really did not have a mattress but a second set of springs. Felt every coil all night long. Nothing done/no communication when complained after first night. Would stay as long as there was no need for sofa bed.

great location, a little pricey for a bw - posted on 05/11/2006

Pricey for May in New York (2bedrm suite); but you can't be the location; rooms are small but doable; service staff was okay and helpful when pushed; better hotel than many others in NYC

Mother Daughter Trip - posted on 04/24/2006

I like the location of the hotel because there was no need to use a cab to get to the places we visited. Walking got use to the theathers, the subway stations, shopping & dinner.

Location/Price - posted on 04/01/2006

Perfect location for the price. Right in downtown theatre district. Can't beat it for the price. Taveled for business. No high speed in rooms. Needs bed covers. Would definitely stay again.

Renovations a must - posted on 03/10/2006

The hotel is in a great location. But the rooms and beds are too small. I had a dbl with twin size beds (not comfortable). Also, the front desk and pbx operator could be much more pleasant (rude & no phone etiquettes. Hotel also needs a business center.

Great service - posted on 01/23/2006

We had excellent service - the staff was friendly and helpful. We did not take advantage of any dining or entertainment, so can't comment - we spent most of our time touring the city. Thanks again. I will highly recommend your hotel to friends and family.

I've stayed better I've stayed worse - posted on 11/06/2005

No warm water, not the most helpful staff and no fitted sheets on the bed. Had an odd odor to the room.

WE WERE ONLY IN NYC FOR 1 NIGHT.....OUR 1ST ROOM WAS TUCKED AWAY IN A CORNER W/ A VERY SMALL WINDOW...CALLED THE FRONT DESK AND WAS UPGRADED TO A JUNIOR SUITE AT NO EXTRA COST...THE CONDITION OF THE ROOM WAS AVERAGE ..NOT A BAD DEAL

Getaway..to the City - posted on 10/11/2005

This was a great little getaway location. Take a cab in from the airport and schedule the hotel shuttle back (they said a cab going back may be much slower) each will be about $30-$40. The room was a little small for 2 people, but had all the necessities. There is so much to do just walking around the block from Broadway to 8th. The restaurant across 48th street from the fire station on the corner is great place for any meal. Also, be sure to try the little Irish bar next to the hotel. We would stay again.

Great Value for Times Square - posted on 03/30/2005

Found this reasonably priced hotel near theaters for our 25th anniversary, preferring to spend on shows instead. Garage parking around the corner also cheaper. Rooms are cozy. View isn?t the greatest, at least on floors 2 and 4. Excellent service and very clean. Great places to eat nearby. Furniture is showing its age but still good. Leave bags with the bell captain after checking out to do more sightseeing. Had a wonderful time!

Excellent Location - posted on 02/03/2005

When visited recently found the best part of my time was the hotel and its exxcellent location 2 mins from times square. Rooms are cleaned daily and all offer a good view of NYC. I am going back in 03/05 and this was the first choice hotel...got it booked!!

Great Price - posted on 11/04/2004

The rooms vary greatly. Some are very very small and stuffy while others are amazingly roomy for the price. The best thing is the marble bathrooms!
