A raesonable place to stay close to JFK. I arrived late and the hotel sent the shuttle over to collect me. The rooms are clean and reasonably spacious. Wireless internet works well in the lobby but not well in the rooms. Good value.

My husband and I stayed physically for 5 minutes, before packing up our children and staying at the Ramada Plaza Hotel. Small rooms, no place to put crib, one working light,no working phone, bars on windows, painted walk with elevated curb for parking behind hotel with no door to enter. Deplorable, unsafe area. No refund offered when staff aprised of situation.

review male clerk at desk was extremely helpful and caterer very friendly. suggest that the lobby is more welcoming and should have new, clean furniture for guests to use.

Small rooms, but cheap. You have to take a bus or cab to get to nearest subway to go to Manhattan.Cab driver advised that hotel was in a pretty rough neighborhood which made me nervous.

BEST: Pleasant front desk staff, ability to make waffles at breakfast, close to JFK. WORST: Dirty hall carpet, no clock in room, dust/sticky coffee stains on top of clothes closet. I am a budget traveler. Despite negatives, I would consider a brief stay again if the situation arose.

The power went out in the evening. The generator was very noisy and did not even provide any light to the stairwell at night.Unable to take shower. Nothing was done about moving guests to another hotel. I still was charged the full amount. No food or drink available in the morning.

Room Carpet was dirty, Had someone trying to open door at 3am, never rec'd wake-up call, Shuttle never came to get us and take us to airport...will never stay there again.
Bad client service - posted on 07/17/2006
Room was very small and booked a double room for 3 people and when I arrived at the hotel, the room was so small that there was not even space for a roll in bed for the third person. When I spoke to the desk personell, the employee was not worried about the situation and did nothing to help solve the situation.

We needed a room for 12 hours while waiting for our flight and this was OK. We arrived mid-afternoon and parked in front. Late-comers had to park around the corner. We were afraid to walk in the area. Desk staff neither knowledgable nor fluent in English.

We specifically booked this hotel since the shuttle is stated to start at 5am. When we arrived, they said the shuttle might start around 6am. Parking is limited. We had to drive up a curve and wedge ourselves next to a dumpster. Hotel is on a busy corner, and 2nd floor is about on street level - very loud. No face cloths supplied in bathroom. Ice machine signs on floor pointed to soda machine, so had to hunt on different floors for ice. Didn't stay long enough for breakfast. Cut my arm on wire sticking out of the alarm clock.

This was, by far and away, the WORST hotel-staying experience I've ever had. It would take me the rest of the day to type you all that was wrong with it, but suffice it to say that HoJo's has gone seriously downhill.
