The previous time I was here, I saw the players from the NHL Penguins stay here too, so it can't be that bad. The steakhouse is great, they have regular prices for Valentine's Day when everyone else usually jacks up their prices. The main negatives are that they do not have a parking lot or an in-house pool, you have to go across the street.
OK stay for $$ - posted on 05/03/2007
The room was clean and nice but room service was WAY too expensive. Another negative is there is no parking nearby. You have to walk to a lot and pay extra; inconvenient.

The Buffalo Hyatt accommodations were superb. Everything was in order. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good hotel, with not so good mattress - posted on 09/07/2006
Mattress covers, comforters are very old and rough and you can see some patch work too... bed is not of any quality. Except that othere hospitality was really good.
some good, some bad - posted on 02/12/2006
!st, the hotel has no parking (!!!). I had to park in a tow-away zone until a spot opened across the street. 2d, for an upscale hotel, the rooms were in bad shape--ratty carpeting, ready for garage sale. A major renovation may be coming. The staff was wonderful---courteous, helpful, pleasant, friendly, accomodating. It reminded me of why visiters love Buffalonians! Finally, the hotel's own E B Green's, advertised as one of the country's top ten steakhouses, was actually superb. It compared favorably to some favorite venerable staekhouses in NYC. Don't miss it.

Terrible experience!! - posted on 12/21/2005
I booked our stay at the Hyatt strictly because of the Hyatt name. When my party(6 adults)arrived at the hotel our rooms were not ready, nor were they the rooms that I had reserved months prior to our stay. The front desk clerk nor the bellman were not helpful when we asked where we could go, within walking distance, to get alcohol and snacks. The 6 of us went to one room that was ready, a room with 2 double beds, and were told that we would be called when our adjoining room was ready. We called down to the desk after about 2 hours and were told that the keys were on the way up. We called 2 more times for the keys to the second room before we finally received them. I went to check the room and was disappointed to see that it was not the adjoining room, but one down the hall. I took the keys back to the desk and I explained our situation. He told me that he would have 2 cots sent to our room so that we could stay together. At about 6pm, we went down to the restaurant. We were one of the first tables seated. We explained to our server that we were going to a concert and needed to be out by about 7pm. We ordered salads and quick entrees (burgers, onion rings etc.) and drinks. As the restaurant filled up, the tables around us were getting their meals and we had received only our drinks. Some of our salads arrived, 2 did not, and 1 was the wrong meal. At 7pm, we needed to get going or we were going to miss the concert. We asked to speak to the manager, who was very kind and apologetic, and gave us our drinks and salads for free. Upon returning to our room around 1:30am, the cots had not arrived. I called the front desk and asked where the cots were and was then told that we could not have 2 cots as this was a fire hazard.
Old and Dirty - posted on 12/19/2005
This is not a Hyatt. Everything was old and dirty. I mean everything. No parking, filthy hallways and rooms. I found old food and clothes in a drawer. When I asked for help I was treated with a no care attitude. No customer service at all. I just wanted to leave the minute we arrived. There are better places in Buffalo for sure.
NeedsvA Good Cleaning - posted on 09/16/2005
This could be a beautiful Hotel. The Public areas were dirty(Cigarette Butts on the floors) Rooms were run down and the halls, carpets and elevators very dirty. The service was very good. The mamagement needs too step up and get the place cleaned up. I would NOT stay there again.
