Rooms were clean, but lacking in lotion, soaps, etc. The staff was friendly/helpful. The hotel seemed adequate, but I was most impressed by the superb location.

We traveled to Albany for a field hockey coaching clinic this past weekend. The hotel was right across the street from the university. The staff was great! The check in was quick and they were very knowledgeable about the area. There is no restaurant, but upon check in they provided us with a list of the closest restaurants and directions to them. The continental breakfast was one of the best I've seen. They had the usual juice, coffee, cereal, and breads but they also had yogurt, breakfast sandwiches and even two waffle makers with strawberries and cream. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable! If I go back to Albany I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

The 99-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott Albany SUNY is located across from the State University of New York campus and provides economically priced accommodation for both the business and leisure traveler. The three-story, non-smoking hotel is near Nanoscale College and Harriman Campus. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet with the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, high-speed Internet access, parking, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area landmarks and attractions include downtown Albany, shopping at Crossgates, Stuyvesant Plaza, and Colonie Center Mall; Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, the New York State Capital, the New York State Museum and the Times Union Center.

Many visitors to Albany say this inn provides good basic accommodation at an affordable price. The location near the university was a major plus for many and several said the close access to I-87 made traveling around the area easy. There were complaints about items not being replenished on the breakfast buffet. Those who arrived when the buffet began had no complaints. Many clients said they would use this inn again while several visitors said they would try neighboring properties on future visits to Albany.
