The 350-room Marriott Albany provides quality, affordable accommodation for both business and leisure traveler. The eight-story, non-smoking property is located off I-87 and is a five-minute drive from Albany Airport. The full-service hotel operates a courtesy shuttle from 6am until midnight. The hotel is 20 minutes from downtown Albany and 30 minutes from Saratoga Springs. There are 16 meeting rooms for social or business functions. The largest, the grand ballroom, can accommodate 1,300 guests. Albany’s Tech Valley area is a short drive from the property as are the offices of General Electric, Bank of America and Verizon.

Several former guests at this hotel reported finding the friendliest people working at the front desk. The staff got many complements for handling medical emergencies and knowing all the best places to visit in the area. There were some complaints that some of the accommodation was in need of upgrading but those comments were in the minority. All the guestrooms, and three suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, cable television with movie channels and pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities and two-line telephone with voicemail, speakerphone and data ports. There are video players and games available for rent. Some rooms have the added benefit or a washer-dryer and a refrigerator.

The hotel’s Chats restaurant offers continental cuisine for lunch and dinner and The Market is open throughout the day for breakfast lunch and dinner. Room service is available from 6am until midnight. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, fitness center and children’s playground. Secretarial services, and fax and copying machines are available. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on local events and attractions. Other amenities include vending machines, newsstand and gift shop, coin-operated laundry and a dry cleaning service.

From Albany Airport (ALB) 1.5 miles: When you leave the airport turn left at the first signal and take another left at the next signal. Proceed straight until you come to Wolf Road. Turn right. The hotel is one half mile ahead.
