Planned late arrival (11 PM) but reserved room w/patio given away to someone else. Nasty reception gave us choice of tiny room or go elsewhere. 2 days later Manager admitted mistake of giving away reserved room. Charged us higher rate anyway (booked directly w/hotel). Never refunded. Given larger room after 1st night, but not room w/patio as promised w/reservation. Poor quality rooms. Comforable beds. Old & musty hotel. Discourteous staff. Will not stay here again. I feel bad about giving a bad review, but hope it will save the next person the same disappointment.

My room was very small, but it was $* a night, so I was happy with that. The lobby is beautiful, especially at Christmas. There's a wonderful fireplace and a friendly bar/restaurant. The front desk staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The location absolutely cannot be beat. If you don't like old hotels, you won't like it. If you enjoy historic hotels, though, this one's a winner.

Great location and nice public spaces. Our room on the mezzanine left some things to be desired, especially for the price. The sink didn't drain, the windows leaked water on the carpet when it rained, and the refrigerator made so much noise we had to unplug it at night. An iron and ironing board would have also been appreciated. It was an ok room and comfortable, but about $50 higher than it should have been. The inside view of a utility alley should have figured in the price as well.

We have stayed here several times, and it's always great. It's a superb bargain for central Santa Fe. Service is super, and rooms are always clean and very nice. The standard rooms are pretty small, but who wants to stay in the room when there is a nice lobby and a great town to explore. One of our favorite vintage hotels!

Wonderful hotel close to plaza. We parked car and walked everywhere. Close to restaurants, shops, & museums. Serene & gracious hotel, wonderful staff, great food, nice room. Loved old-fashion elevator!
