My spouse and I had a wonderful one-night stay during the off-season. We are local residents and had heard great things about Tamaya. The resort is gorgeous. Our one negative experience was in ordering vegetarian dinners at the Santa Ana Cafe. There was nothing appropriate listed on the menu, but our waitress assured us the chef would create a veggie adaptation of a linguine dish on the menu. What arrived was pasta in lobster cream sauce (same as the item on the menu). This was a special-occasion dinner for us, and we were quite disappointed--and surprised that a top chef would think lobster suitable for vegetarians. The staff (our server and the maitre d') more than made up for this lapse, however. What we had eaten (salad, wine) was compensated; fruit and cheese were sent to our rooms; and on checkout we received a $100 certificate for a future meal at any Hyatt restaurant. This did much to assuage our initial disappointment at a ruined meal. We will be back!

Santa Ana Cafe has no vegetarian menu options for dinner. Chef apparently does not know meaning of "vegetarian."

This is a nice hotel with a very friendly staff. It is way out in the middle of nowhere but it is self sufficient if you need anything.

Accommodations
Rooms have sunset views of the Bosque cottonwood forest and Sandia Mountains and are furnished with authentic Southwestern adobe, wood and woven textures. The least expensive room have two double beds and all the accommodation has jade slate bathrooms with hairdryer and a patio or balcony. Amenities include Internet access, coffee maker, cable TV, videos on demand, iron and ironing board, desk with lamp, refrigerator, dual line phones, voicemail and an in-room safe. Dining options include The Corn Maiden open for dinner with a show kitchen, the Santa Ana Cafe a full service restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner also special buffets and weekend brunches and the atush (their spelling) bar and grill that enjoys views of the ninth and eighteenth holes at the Twin Warriors Golf Course is open for breakfast and lunch. The Trading Post, open from 6am until 9pm has Starbucks coffee with sandwiches and snacks. The resorts Twin Warriors Golf Club promises both the championship golfer and the resort-style golfer an unusual golfing adventure. There are three swimming pools, horse riding, a complete spa and fully equipped fitness center. There are programs for tots and teens and for a special sixty minute hot air balloon trip.

Phenomenal, fantastic and fabulous are some of the adjectives used by former visitors to this resort to describe their stay here. Families with children said the kids club was extremely good and businessmen said the location gave them the chance of visiting both Santa Fe and Albuquerque the resort is midway between the two cities and enjoy the benefits of high quality accommodation without having to change hotels.
