Hotel was great; only criticism was the shower fixture was difficult to manipulate, even with the written instructions that were taped to the spout - a picture would have worked better.

Very family friendly.

Could not figure out how to turn on shower; took a bath instead.

Courtyard West Orange is advertised as a hotel for business travelers. However, the amount of history and things to do in the area may pry traveler's attention away from work. This hotel is located close to Thomas Edison's laboratory, Montclair State University, Seton Hall University, Rutgers, and a large array of corporations. For amusement, Essex Green Shopping Center is nearby, as well as beautiful Eagle Rock and South Mountain Reservation. Last but not least, Courtyard West Orange is but a short drive or commute to downtown New York City. For nearby cuisine, there's simple fare like Friday's or Whole Foods Market, or more elaborate cuisine at award-winning restaurants such as the Highlawn Pavilion and the Manor. Travel to neighboring Montclair, and enjoy an vast range of international cuisine. Or, stay on site and enjoy the Courtyard Lounge and Courtyard Cafe.

Courtyard West Orange is a great place to stay if you're looking for something close to New York City. There are a lot of fun things to do in the area, and it's very easy to get around. Long term visitors have it easy at this location, since there are a lot of home-away-from-home touches, such as supermarkets and movie theaters. It's very tidy, well-appointed, and modern, with helpful staff that do their best to make your stay a pleasant one. Singles coming to the area won't be thrilled with the lack of social options, but there's a lot to do within a short drive of the hotel. Definitely give Courtyard West Orange a look when making your travel plans.
