Easy to find, rooms are clean, staff was friendly.
A bare bones hotel that is sufficient for the indiscriminate traveler.

Overall, this is a good hotel and I would stay there again if in the area. Need to have smoking rooms available for smokers.

Very spacious and comfortable room.

This hotel is intended for longer stays that require the comforts of home, including a kitchen. Located near New Jersey's IZOD Center, Giants Stadium, and Meadowlands Convention Center, Extended Stay America Secaucus is only a few miles away from New York City proper, and just down the road from shopping malls, movie theaters and other family entertainment. The area also has several good restaurants, cultural event venues, and public transportation. There isn't a full-time front desk; instead, there are office hours where guests may get assistance with services and schedule cleaning. There are fitness facilities in the local area, but this hotel does have an on-site laundry.

Accommodations

All rooms are studios, and there are different charges for housekeeping and towel replenishment. There's a complimentary cleaning every seven days, and additional pick-ups cost $10.00. Refresh Service takes care of filling soap dispensers and tissue products, changing towels and making the bed; that costs $5.00 per. Pets are $25 per day, not to exceed $150 per entire visit. There may be weight restrictions, so call first.

Because this is an extended stay type of hotel, there aren't the usual hotel amenities. Instead, it's like an apartment. They offer $4.99 Internet access that's good for the entire visit, and fax/copy services during office hours. Each room has a full kitchen with dishes, refrigerator and microwave, bathroom and sleeping area. Housekeeping doesn't do the dishes, however. The hotel will be glad to refer you to local businesses for gym memberships and beauty treatments.

This is a good fit for long-term guests, or for travelers understanding that this is an efficiency studio, not a routine hotel full of amenities. This will not suit those looking for a luxurious stay. That being said, Extended Stay Secaucus did receive some low marks for cleanliness at times, as well as uncomfortably hard beds. It may be best to have a car here, since the nearest train is quite a distance away, and the bus may be slow due to traffic. However, this will suit those who need something close to Manhattan for the long term without the exorbitant price.
