Whether youve flown in or come via Penn Station, Newark welcomes you with open arms. Unfortunately it can get overlooked with New York being so close by but it definitely stands on its own with all the great sites and activities you can enjoy here.
Some of the must-see sights include the amazing Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The towers and stained glass windows are a wonderful example of the attention to detail it was given when being built. The Institute of Jazz is a must for those who love its syncopated rhythms and the Newark Museum is a wonderful place to be exposed to art.
There are fantastic shops and boutiques found throughout the city but if you want to enjoy the outdoors make sure you visit Branch Brook Park. It is filled with cherry trees, which makes it a huge drawing card in the spring when they begin to bloom.
