About the Hyatt Morristown

The 256-room Hyatt Morristown is centrally located in downtown historic Morristown and has recently completed a $10 million dollar renovation. It is a popular business hotel but has facilities to suit the leisure traveler. The property is well equipped to handle banquets, weddings and business seminars. It has 23 meeting rooms, including View 15, the new state-of-the-art executive boardroom on the 15th floor. There are also three ballrooms. More than 30 restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance and a ten-plex movie theater is within the hotel complex. The property adjoins the County’s Park, Morristown Green. Newark Liberty International Airport is a 25-minute drive and it is a one hour train journey to New York City.

Many businessmen use this hotel frequently and enjoy the location and reasonable rates. They also found the train commute into New York City easy and saved the cost of more expensive accommodation there. The Morristown train station is within easy walking distance of the hotel. For the leisure traveler there are plenty of restaurants, attractions and shops nearby. The recent renovations ended complaints about tired-looking rooms. However there are still complaints about having to pay for Internet access when competing hotels in Morristown made no charge. Helpful staff and reasonably priced dining got good reviews. Hyatt Morristown Accommodations

The spacious 400-square-foot rooms enjoy city views and traditional wood furnishings and there is a choice one king or two double beds. The bathrooms come with a roomy shower and hair dryer. Other amenities include work desk with Internet access, cable TV with pay-per-view movies, IDD phone with voicemail, iron and ironing board, iPod docking station, electronic door lock, coffee maker and in-room safe. Room service is available from 6am until midnight.

Dining options include Eclectic Grill, a full-service restaurant with contemporary American cuisine, the Qube Lounge with favorite cocktails and an array of appetizers and Eclectic Cup with Starbucks coffees and light breakfast fare. The hotel’s Headquarters Health Club is one of the largest hotel fitness centers in the country and has fitness classes, exercise equipment, sauna, indoor track, and indoor lap pool. It also offers spa treatments and Thai-style massages. There is a business center, car rental desk, gift shop, ATM and laundry and dry cleaning services. The 24-hour front desk can arrange for currency exchange and babysitters. There are soda and ice machines throughout the property.

From Newark International Airport (22 miles): Take Route 78 West to Route 24 West. Take Route 24 West to Route 287 South to Exit 35 (Madison Avenue). Turn right at the end of the ramp and stay right onto South Street. Follow South Street to the center of town, the Morristown Square Park. Go halfway around the park and bear right onto Speedwell Avenue (this is also Route 202 North). The hotel is two blocks on the right. From George Washington Bridge: Take Route 80 West to Exit 43, Route 287 South. Follow Route 287 South to Exit 35 (Madison Avenue). Turn right at the end of the ramp and stay right onto South Street. Follow South Street to the center of town, Morristown Square Park. Go halfway around the park and bear right onto Speedwell Avenue (this is also Route 202 North). The hotel is two blocks on the right. From Lincoln Tunnel: Follow the NJ Turnpike South (95 South) to exit 15W, Interstate 280 West. Take I-280 West to Route 80 West (the end of I-280 becomes 80 West). Take Route 80 West to Exit 43, Route 287 South. Follow Route 287 South to Exit 35 (Madison Avenue). Turn right at the end of the ramp and stay right onto South Street. Follow South Street to the center of town, Morristown Square Park. Go halfway around the park and bear right onto Speedwell Avenue (this is also Route 202 North). The hotel is two blocks on the right.
