DIRTY DUMP - posted on 05/11/2007
I Stayed at this Hotel becasue it was the site of the martial Arts tournament that I was attending. It was a total DUMP the room smelled it was dirty and I don't know if the bathroom was even cleaned after the last guest. I requested my room be clean and they gave me a spray can to clean the room myself. i walls are paper thin and you can hear the people in the room next to you like they were in the same room as you. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I would have payed $100 extra to stay at a better Hotel.

My friends and I came here because it's close to the casinos but not as expensive. Who cares what it's like? We got wasted and gambled. What else do you do in the AC. I don't even remember the hotel. But the trip was hella fun.

my friends and i stayed there over the summer, thinking we were saving some money...but we were so wrong. for the price we paid, for just a little extra we could've had a nice room somewhere else. the rooms were gross, only god knows when the last time the comforters were even washed... there was still sand on my blanket...there's so much more but just read all the negative reviews and stear clear of this dump!
Great Location and Price - posted on 02/15/2007
I like the Howard Johnson in Atlantic City because of the location. The hotel was located just minutes from all of the area attractions including casinos and the famous boardwalk. I was extremely satisfied with the hotel room and service, although some work could be done on the exterior. Overall, this hotel has a great location and you cannot beat the price compared to other hotels in the area. I was very satisfied.
Dont stay here - posted on 02/07/2007
This hotel was a dump. It was dirty, run down and was price way to high for the quality. Parking was not on premise either. I would never stay here again.

The room was dirty, the bathrooms were atrocious, and you couldnt sleep because you could here every noise outside.
Didn't have a problem - posted on 01/15/2007
I have to say, after reading the other reviews, I was a little scared. I've stayed here before, but a while ago. The lobby did not smell moldy, nor did the room. It's not the Taj, but have you seen that place lately? We were comfortable, and the rooms do need some updating, but clean. The cafe is closed for remodeling currently. Seems as they are trying to update
WORST HOTEL in Atl City - posted on 09/14/2006
DON'T DO IT! This hotel is FILTHY DIRTY and OUTDATED - looks like they haven't renovated or cleaned it since the 1960's... Beds are soft and have had lots of use. Lobby & rooms smell of mildew and mold. - NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS.

The website pictures are deceiving. The rooms are dirty. The comforters were falling apart, who knows what's on them. Our door wouldn't shut unless you kicked it. Some kept calling the room at 4:30am. I felt the parking garage was a mugging waiting to happen. DON'T STAY HERE!!
Bad experience - posted on 04/28/2006
Do not stay here if you are looking for a comfortable clean place to stay. Only good for those who only use the room to shower and leave. Rooms are small, cramped, outdated. Lobby will tell all, dank, dirty, smelly.

My 1st night was a nightmare. Loud partgoers, arguing couples, annoying elevator, profanity and the like kept me from sleeping peacefully thru the night. The managers changed my room and gave me a complimentary breakfast for the next morning to accommodate the terrible night before. I would have liked to have had a complimentary 1 night stay as well as a makeup instead! that would have perfected what turned out to be an unfortunate 'ok' 34th' anniversary.

Good location - posted on 12/21/2005
The room was clean (clean sheets, toilet etc.). The location was great, 50 m from the Boardwalk and maybe 500 m to Boardwalk Hall. There is a parking garage which was for free (although it took some time to find a spot).

This hotel, the Howard Johnson in Atlantic City, NJ is in a great location, however, it's premises, including the rooms are filthy. Our room smelled like mildew, the carpets were dingy and filthy. The carpets in the lounge area were dirty as well. Horrible experience.

The parking garage is a (scary) block away, connected to a different hotel. The hotel, in general, is in a bad neighborhood and there were lots of loiterers in the lobby. The door to the room did not close, the elevator did not work, the beds and the noise make sleeping nearly impossible (especially with the burn holes in the blanket in a non-smoking room), and the whole place smells bad. I did not feel safe here at all, and def. did not like leaving my belongings in the room. The staff was also very difficult to deal with when we tried for hours to cancel our second night.
Staff And Restaurant Were Excellent - posted on 07/22/2004
It was a rather old hotel but it was well kept, the staff and restaurant were excellent. The location to atlantic city casinos was also great. would stay there again.
