Customer Reviews for Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa

Average casino hotel - posted on 05/10/2007

Very average. We stayed in the motor lodge. Basic, but quiet. Sink wouldn't drain. Hotel staff not as friendly as one would expect. Very little to choose from on-site in terms of restaurants.

Very Smoky - posted on 05/04/2007

This is one of the smokiest hotels I have ever stayed at. Most of the other Hotel casinos we visited had a much better ventilation system. The lobby area is very crowded and it is hard to find restaurants. We spent very little time in our hotel because we would smell like smoke all day long. I would recommend the Nugget or other hotels that have more space. The price was not all that different. We were also in the motorlodge and were not allowed to use the workout facilities without paying $8. Any other hotel, this was included.

The hotel had a spa, pool, massage, salon, 5 restuarants, great gambling. There was also a buffet you can enjoy in the morning or night. The staff was great and extremley helpful.

The Atlantis couldn't do enough for us which includes accomodations, maid service, shuttles and dining. I was extremely pleased with all they've done for us and look forward to our return visit in 2010

Beware of false advertising - posted on 02/26/2007

Like other reviewers, I was a victim of the low-rate econolodge. It'd be nice if they actually explained what it is. Instead, I spent hours talking to the manager on my honeymoon while my new wife cried about being stuck in the ghetto econolodge room. The staff was unhelpful and only upgraded us to the tower after the card reader on the door failed and wouldn't let us in.

very enjoyable - posted on 01/22/2007

If you like slots and your children like arcade then this is the place for you. Slots pay- out are generally more generous here than the casinos downtown. And the money last much longer in the arcade. We plan to stay here again this spring break. This will be out 3rd stay within the past year. Also the enclosed swimming pool allow us to swim year round.

Weekend at the Atlantis - posted on 11/27/2006

My mother and I spent four nights at this hotel for a family reunion. Because my mother has a difficult time walking a great distance, I inquired about the location of the room I had booked and was informed those rooms were not attached but were at least 50 yards away. The manager was kind enough to upgrade us to the tower at no charge. My cousins complained of noisy rooms on the 4th-6th floors but our room on the 12th was great!

Excellent Service - posted on 11/20/2006

From the mnoment we checked in until we left 5 days later for my daughter's wedding, there is only one change we would make and that would be to stay in the hotel instead of out in the motorlodge. The food (buffet and fine Italian restaurant), spa, hair salon and finally all of the staff were incredible! Hats off to all of them. Thank You!!!!

Don't stay in motor lodge!!! - posted on 11/15/2006

Do not be lured into the cheap rate. They will put you in the noisy, old, stinky rooms in motorlodge (behind the main casino) Otherwise a fun place but only if you can stay in main towers. Best buffet in town.

motor lodge - posted on 10/27/2006

The Resort was beautiful but once we checked we found out that we were placed in the motor lodge instead of the Resort itself ; which even the bellman said "you don't want to be there". Noise was over bearing between the maid service and the building next door. Will most likely never stay there again due to that misleading info. I was there on business so very disappointting.

Anniversary - posted on 10/19/2006

Our casino host takes great care of us while we stay. We love the fact that this place is away from the strip. The rooms we have stayed in range from average to excellent. Make sure you request what you want when you book. The casino has all the current machines and lots of space. Dealers are very nice and helpful. We always enjoy ourselves when we stay here.

Best vacation in 10 years - posted on 09/26/2006

This hotel provides some of the finest amenities and service that I have experienced in my many years of travel. Our room was perfect, service was superb in all areas. If you want to experience the best of this venue, book the Luxury or Concierge Tower rooms. The Econo lodge is what the adjective implies. I'll be back !

Humble motel - posted on 08/30/2006

I went to the Atlantis hotel with my parents, but I was so upset. My room was a humble motel which is out of hotel building and I found the cockroach in the room. I made a reservation the hotel, but they gave us shabby rooms. I did not expect that such a poor service and motel room.

Would stay again - posted on 08/09/2006

The Atlantis is at the end of the street furthest from Downtown but since it's on the bus route only about 10min ride. The food was good, rooms clean-no fridge in room though! Modern rooms with large bathroom. Stayed in the tower rooms the motor lodge looked like an old roadside motel. Great view from the room. Two nice breakfast spots down the road-Heidi's and The Three Bears. Highly rec. both. I liked the Atlantis overall and would rec. it.

We enjoyed our brief stay. However, we booked tower rooms, but ended up in motel room the first night. The entire spa experience was wonderful.

Smoke Hotel - posted on 07/27/2006

Staff excellent! Too much smoke in the casino/elevator and non smoking restaurants. Need to pay extra to use the gym - not to keen on the idea. Spa is wonderful. Looking for a hotel that will provide a less smoke filled environment.

Econolodge mistake - posted on 06/01/2006

I was very upset when I found out I was in a two story, 30+ year old building. The Web sight never explained they were booking me in such an old dark building where I had to walk thru the casino to go to the pool. Front Desk not cooperative when I explained the misunderstanding.

bad trip - posted on 04/25/2006

i was unhappy with the hotel, the flight, and how uniformed we were with the whole trip all around. the restaurants at the hotel were bad except for the oyster bar and the steakhouse.they would not provide us with a fridge, microwave or coffee pot. i would never stay there again

We went to swim and get out of the snow. The pool was great and the view of the snow falling outside wasn't bad either.

better than expected - posted on 04/08/2006

The hotel was clean and honestly I was worried considering how cheap we got the room. I was just put out when we went to the check out ans they asked us to pay an electricity surcharge. We did not use the phone or buy anything on our room account so I was a little upset that we had a "hidden charge".

Good value, enjoyed the pool - posted on 01/04/2006

My kids had a great time at the indoor pool, while we enjoyed hot hub outside in the cold nights. The room is clean enough. But the front desk is quite rude and slow to respond when I pointed an error in the bill, even though the charge was removed the next day.

Would do it again! - posted on 11/08/2005

Choose the Atlantis after reading reviews and viewing photos and the like online of all the choices in Reno. Feel we made the best choice. Visted most of the others while in town outta curiosity and left convinced we did our homework well. Says loosest slots in Reno, well maybe but I've never been lucky. Location great, parking too other than weekend eves but valet was quick and efficent. Loved our stay, would choose Atlantis again.

The Best!!! - posted on 07/31/2005

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in.. we stayed in the Jaccuzzi suite, it was great, with a beautiful view of the city. The restaurants were great especially the buffet. We never left the hotel to eat, that's how good it was.The shuttle ,the concierge tower..it was all great. I am a travel agent and I can't wait to tell all my clients about the Atlantis it is one word....GREAT!!!

A Pleasant Stay - posted on 07/15/2005

The Atlantis Hotel is a very nice hotel. Its rooms are decent, but not spectacular (just a hotel room). Its buffet is excellent, one of the best I have ever had. Its two pools made my summer stay very enjoyable. My only complaint is that one would expect more of a Hellenistic theme, but I felt like they pathetically tried to recreate Polynesia.

Only Quiet Hotel in Reno! - posted on 06/12/2005

I had stayed here 10 years ago when it was first remodeled and it's still very nice! No loud trains at night! It's a long way from the other end of Virginia Street and the rest of the Casino's - but the quiet at night is worth it! Clean rooms! Casino staff and front dest - very nice!

I Tell Ya What... - posted on 04/28/2004

Get a brand new knee less than 30 days prior to checking into your nightmare, beg for pillows to prop up your leg, you dont/are refused them. Then, You have to drag your bag, while walking on a cane to have a bellman say to you, I will be with you shortly...and 45 minutes later you finally scaled 2 flights of steps..Cane, bag and all by yourself. So you toddle off to Cafe Alfresco to have a woman put together a salad for you to eat in your room and sending you off to eat, telling you , "I put everything in the box"....You get back to your bed, prop your leg up on the balled up bedspred, you open up my box to NO FORK........ Im not a crybaby, I came to Reno for tests that I failed miserably because of no rest and throbbing pain in my knee. Your company is either miserablely understaffed because they dont have time to care for the little details, or, THEY JUST DONT CARE. I write my review in the third person because...Maybe one day, this just might be YOU.
