The Atlantis plays on the 'paradise' theme quite a bit, and works to make the hotel/casino live up to that billing. From the outside, the multi-colored towers and the flames that shoot up from above the oyster bar, which itself is in a skywalk above Reno's main street, offer the promise of a spectacular property. The interior delivers on that promise, with virtual jungles of plant life, dazzling lighting and glass-walled elevators that whisk hotel guests to their rooms. But for all the glitz, the site offers a wide range of accommodations, from the discounted motor lodge, to the various towers, to the ultra-swank Grand Penthouse Suites. On the entertainment side, visitors to Reno could never leave the Atlantis property and still enjoy all the gaming, dining and entertainment that the city is famous for. There's even a full-sized game and video arcade for those under 21.
Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?
Yes. If you are looking for a Reno resort that offers it all, the Atlantis is a great choice. It isn't a part of the downtown gaming district, so it avoids the problems that plague the downtown. It is on S. Virginia Street, so it is convenient to get in and out of. And it is a huge property, with dining for all tastes, all the glamour of Nevada-style gaming, and live entertainment in the lounges. Its location has also positioned the Atlantis to be the best lodging for convention center events, particularly for exhibitors with large or oversized vehicles or trailers.
This is the place to stay if you are looking to visit the Biggest Little City for a special or once-in-a-lifetime vacation or getaway. Read our customer reviews?
The Motor Lodge rooms are in a seperate building adjacent to the hotel/casino proper, and are roomy and clean, while the Tower rooms range in size and luxury. All offer 24-hour room service, free pool access, and ironing board and iron. Some of the higher-end tower rooms also offer in-room coffee makers, hair driers, free newspapers, while the top-tier penthouse suites offer gold-plated bathroom fixtures and 24-hour butler service.
The Atlantis is a true destination resort hotel and casino. Indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and salon, and a kids' arcade are all on-site. There are a wide range of restaurants at the property, from a 24-hour coffeeshop to high-end steak, seafood and Italian eateries. Live entertainment is provided by well-known Reno area lounge performers, and the casino offers regular promotions and events, such as the Million Dollar 3-Card Poker World Championship and the Frankenstein Fortune Keno Tournament. The Atlantis is also literally right across the street from the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, making it the hotel of choice for those in town for a convention there, and plans are in the works to build a skywalk right to the convention center.
