The Best Western Airport Plaza Hotel is a large, full-service hotel and conference center literally within walking distance of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The property offers all of the conveniences one expects from such a hotel- pool, spa, a lounge, business support services, banquet facilities, easy access by car or from the airport, and a pleasant- and competent- atmosphere. And for when the conference is over, or the banquet has finished, the hotel puts all of the indoor and outdoor recreation associated with Reno, Nevada, at the guests' fingertips. Located on Terminal Way at the airport, the hotel is just next to U.S. 395, the main freeway artery running north-south through the city, and very close to Interstate 80, the main freeway artery running east-west through the city. This makes everything- from Virginia City to Lake Tahoe to the ski areas, downtown gaming and golf courses- easy to get to from the hotel.

Yes, this hotel is recommended, with certain caveats. It is an upscale hotel/convention/banquet center. It offers several luxurious accommodations. It gets good reviews from guests. It is located near the airport and the area's main roads. But it could be any upscale Best Western center in any number of cities throughout the country. Nothing about the site reflects the fact that it is a part of Reno, Nevada, the biggest little city in the world. Then again, that's what many guests actually see as a positive attribute of the property. Another caveat is that the website is run by the Best Western chain, not the site itself. The rooms at the Best Western Airport Plaza Hotel are nice and comfortable, whether guests are there just to sleep and out by the crack of dawn, or are using them as a staging area for a big event in the hotel's banquet facilities. The rooms offer free bath accessories, cable/satellite television, an am/fm alarm clock, a coffee/tea maker, hair drier, iron and board, wake up calls, free local calls and dataports. Fireplace suites are available, as are non-smoking rooms.

Amenities offered

If the Nevada-style gaming at the nearby casinos doesn't appeal to hotel guests, the properties amenities are luxurious enough that they just might not leave the site at all during their Reno stay. There's an outdoor pool, seasonally heated, along with hot tub, steam room, sauna, exercise facility and spa. The onsite Plaza Court Restaurant and the Crosswinds Lounge will meet the dining and socializing requirements, while the business center, putting green, high speed internet access and guest laundry should handle all other needs.
