SUPER Hotel - posted on 05/09/2007

I have not seen that much artwork since our museum tours. There are several nudes but none were objectionable. The lobby is dark if you come in from the bright sunshine. We enjoyed the candles in the lobby. The bathrooms, the lobby and hallways were very clean. If you want lines, glaring lights and neon, this is not the place for you. Our room displayed Goya paintings. The room was spotless. The maid service outstanding. The restaurant was quite good. The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. Would we stay at the Artisan again - YOU BET.

Bad - posted on 04/10/2007

I will never stay there again. It is dark and our room was painted black and the bathroom was all white & balck, with more black. It was very safocating to me. There should have been more light or they should have used light color painting and light wood furniture. It didn't do it for me and I am not going to stay there next time and would not recommend it to my family or friends.

The front desk haelp was rude and uncourteous, and to make matters worse they double charged my card. The only redeeming factor was the valet.the room was so small we could barely walk, and the maid let herself in while we were at dinner.

you walk in and its very dark the decor is great, employees were not too friendly, they charge to park and there is no other parking so your stuck paying for it they need to turn up the lights so they can see the dirt

lobby is deceiving - posted on 11/02/2006

Oh yes, you walk into the lobby and think how beautiful this hotel is. Then you get your room. And the walls have stains on them from who knows what. The bathroom has hair on the floor and the bedroom floor has sunflower seeds. Gross!!! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone or stay there again.

Someone really went all out and put together a fantastic looking place. The locale is LOUD due to traffic from Sahara Ave and incredibly confusing to get to and from. Everything is refinished except the bathrooms which were skipped for the facelift. The bar & lounge are quite comfortable. The service is always predictably slow with much room for improvement. If you go for the free "European" breakfast get there well before the cutoff of 9:00 A.M. Be ready, only one waiter serves in the restaurant at any given time. In the future I'd go out my way to stay elsewhere.

A lot of extra charges--bogus energy charge. Bulbs were out in both lamps and we didn't watch TV. Valet was effecient, though we paid 10 bucks a day for parking (free at strip hotels); Manager spent 25 min telling us how Artisan advertises to a diverse clientele because too many gays were coming to Artisan and they did not want to be known as gay hotel. This hotel is a great buy if you are on a layover and I would stay here again--but only if I can't get a strip hotel for the same price. You may save a few bucks, but a lot of sacrifice.

Boutique with a few flaws - posted on 04/26/2006

The concept is original and each room dedicated to a different artist is interesting. However, the lighting needs to be improved so one can take pics that will actually turn out, and the guestroom baths need attention. Apart from the shower heads everything needs to be updated. Shelf space would be a plus. The pool area is beautiful for a small hotel and I would have liked to enjoy it more, but for 4 hrs. of prime sun time the whole area was closed for a child's private birthday party. Unacceptable for the guests. Staff was very friendly.

Lighting in lobby and room could be improved. Parking is all catered but at reasonable price. Saw no real bad items but did not use bar or dining facilities. Art work not to my taste but some may enjoy it.

Like walking into the Haunted Mansion!! - posted on 04/13/2006

Good Things: Wireless internet access, Cable tv, Plenty of pillows/ bath towels. BAD THINGS: It was kind of creepy. Very dark. Carpeting in hall ways was very dirty. They charge you for EVERYTHING!! including overnight parking for $6.50 a night and a $3.50 energy surcharge per day. It's ridiculous since the whole place is practically lit by candles!! Please consider all of the extra charges before booking. I know i will next time!! Oh, before i forget, they also charge for using the hair dryer and there is no easy access to the freeways either. GOOD LUCK!

I GOT MARRIED!!! - posted on 01/25/2006

The chapel was beautiful. My husband and I have the greatest pictures to remind us of the best day!The chapel resembles an old Spanish Church. It's beautiful. After the ceremony we had a cocktail recetion in the bar and a sit down dinner in the main dining room. The staff was great and the food was delicious! Afterwards we stayed in a great room that had then greatest decorations! I can't wait to return this summer after seeing the pool and cabanas! I highley recommend this place!

This was the creepiest experience i've ever had. The stench in the lobby was unrecognizable..checked in on a friday evening, absolutely NOBODY in lobby(including employee's) Candle's were burning instead of lights:freaky-deaky artwork all over the place--stayed out extra late to avoid sleeping in the room--too scary for my taste.

Fun Place to Stay - posted on 08/14/2005

I really enjoyed the Artisan. It is quintessential Vegas...unusual, fun, on the edge. The decor is really interesting. The staff pleasant and helpful. The bar is one of the best in town. Will definitely be back

The Worst - posted on 07/07/2005

They collect a deposit of $100.00 to everyone. Super small bedrooms. Old bathrooms and in bad condition. Matress very old. Three lights total with 25 Watts bulb. Super dark inside hotel too. No space to walk in room. Ice Maker broken. Much better hotels in Vegas for the same price. Read comments from everyone before making a reservation here. Bad Bad Bad

Pretty on the outside, yuckky inside. - posted on 04/07/2005

Overall, we were quite dissapointed with the hotel - it was nice looking outside, and the lobby decor was dramatic, but our room had peeling wallpaper and was quite small. Also, we had reserved 2 beds, but were told that none were to be had.

Never again - posted on 03/24/2005

This was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel was dark and dirty. We had offensive artwork in our room. The managers were rude. You have to get a cab to go anywhere and the cabs do not want to come down to the ghetto. The hotel is in a very scary area. Oh ya and the spa is non-existent. Wouldn't stay there again if they paid me too.

HORRIBLE - posted on 03/14/2005

I cannot say enough bad things about the place. When I was flummoxed that there was no spa, the manager said, "well, did you ask if there was a spa?" I guess the name Artisan Hotel and Spa isn't indication enough. I agreee with their logic in that it ain't a hotel either.

WOW what a mouth - posted on 03/06/2005

The decor was nice. The smell was awful; the plumbing needs to be ripped out and replaced. The dinning was more like a hungryman T.V. dinner with a rude waitress (Antenette) that reeked of liquor and ciggerettes, and wouldn't stop running her loud obnoxious mouth about the owners and employees. For being the head waitress you would think she would know about proper etiquette and have customer service skills (No one wants to hear how the owners can't run a place of business when we are trying to have a nice T.V. dinner). Overall you'd be better not to stay here ever.
