I still have a smile on my face - posted on 07/22/2005
I still have a smile on my face when I think of our stay at the Westin! We have stayed at some of the nicest hotels on the strip but still prefer the Westin. Being able to stay at a high class hotel like the Westin with our pet is so important to us. The staff at the Westin know how to spoil both us & our pet! We all loved our Heavenly beds, excellent service & attentive security. We are definitely returning to the Westin in November !!!!!!

For the price this hotel was very nice. Rooms were very relaxing and plush feeling. Good central strip location only 1 block from the strip, but you have a great view of the strip from the rooms. Would stay here again.

I had reserved this hotel for my husband's birthday and we both found it to be wonderful. When we checked in I told the woman at the counter that it was his birthday and she upgraded our room and gave us a room with a better view! The beds were just wonderful and incredibly confortable! Definitely worth the stay!

The beds are heavenly soft, as they call them. Very nice location, away from strip but close enough. The smokefree concept is the best
Pet Friendly - posted on 03/30/2007
If you're looking for a nice per friendly hotel, this is it. The room was beautiful, bed was great and I never heard another dog. There is a $35 pet cleaning fee above normal room charge. Hotel is across from Bally's and 5 minute walk from the strip. The in-house restaurant was a little pricey but nice. The shower was excellent. Dual heads with plenty of hot water.
Going to the dogs - posted on 03/12/2007
The staff was wonderful and everyone was friendly. The beds were great and the rooms were nice. We were looking forward to a good night's sleep after being stranded for over 24 hours. Unfortunately, we had two barking dogs in the room next door that went on all night and a construction site outside our window that started at 2:30 a.m. If you are allergic to pets as I am, or don't want to take the chance of getting barking dogs next door, don't stay here. I wasn't aware of their pet policy when I booked. Otherwise a great place and we got a very good rate.
Westin is Wonderful - posted on 03/08/2007
This hotel is wonderful. Small and easy to navigate with easy access parking. The checkin process fast and courteous. All rooms are non-smoking. The room is very comfortable, flat screen tv with free movies. Free Starbucks coffee and bottle water. The bed is from heaven, european style with down comforters. The strip only one block away. A real value in Vegas.

The Westin when visited was clean, very friendly staff, the beds were great and the location is only 2 blocks from the center of the strip. More laid back then the bigger hotels/casinos, but if you are looking for more action it is only a short walk away.Great workout room. A great value for the dollar.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced full-service hotel in Las Vegas, stay here. It's a block off of the strip, has a small casino, spa, and restaurant. The rooms were very nice (especially the beds and bath).

Loved the little rubber duckies that you get to take home with you! They are worth the trip then the NON SMOKING in the whole hotel is great. The beds are the best and the turn down service makes a great stay for keeping you room clean and full of extra's.
Wonderful Staff - posted on 02/16/2007
After the heavenly beds, heavenly shower, great food and service we were glad to spend Valentines Day there. It also afforded some quiet time since the Hotel is not directly at the strip.

I was a little nervous about the previous negative postings, which I found completely unfounded. I had a WONDERFUL stay- the staff is very friendly, the size of the hotel is PERFECT... (I feel like a sheep in the megaresorts- at this hotel, I am a person!), I didn't wan tto get out of the heavenly bed in the morning, housekeeping was attentive, spa service was phenomenal!!

a small but sufficient casino, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great food in the restaurant, wonderful workout room
A great place close to the strip that excepts pets - posted on 10/11/2006
The customer service here was outstanding. Our dogs (3) were all welcome, from every hotel employee that we met. The room was very nice for the price.
Not all that great! - posted on 07/25/2006
We stayed here for 2 nights. The rug was spotted and stained. Left for over 2 hours and the maid never cleaned our room. The elevator to the 12th floor, where our room was, was broken the whole time we were there. The a/c vent cover was peeling paint. The casino is small and very smokey. Pets are accepted for a fee. We really expected a whole lot more from this hotel. Should not be rated so high.
don't know how it's rated as a 4-star hotel - posted on 07/04/2006
Stayed there for 2 nights, and wasn't happy with them. Hallways were dirty with phone books flying everywhere, and the maid didn't clean our bathroom. Absolutely not a 4-star hotel (as rated), I'd rated it at 2.5 to 3 stars.

Never Again! - posted on 05/11/2006
I had a conference at this hotel, so my wife and I decided to stay there. Based on their prices, we were expecting a really nice room. Boy, were we let down! Everything in the room was colored in drab olive green and brown, and the bathroom was rather plain. The view from the window was awful. The casino was very small. After one night at the Westin, we moved to the Paris Las Vegas, where we had a much nicer room at a much cheaper rate. I've stayed at many 3-star hotels that were nicer than the Westin.
You are what? - posted on 05/04/2006
The first night there we were excited to be in Vegas. The room looked comfortable. I had a terrible night sleep the bed was to soft. The shower has hair in the drain from who knows what. The top part of the night was a homeless female came to our room about 2:00am asking for money in exchange for favors, if you know what I mean.

To begin, I DID get a four nights of excellent sleep in my Las Vegas Westin Casuarina Heavenly Bed! However, the property itself is having serious problems. When I booked my hotel I knew that I was paying a premium price for the Westin brand name, thinking that I would get a better standard of cleanliness and service compared to other hotels in Las Vegas. I was WRONG. The sad state of the place did not live up to the Westin name. Public areas smelled of sewage. Hallways were filthy with food, dirt and I-dont-want-to-know. Carpets were old, worn and dirty.
Could be better - posted on 01/18/2006
I stayed here 2 nights on business. My room overlooked a shanty town of run-down motels now inhabited by the homeless. The rooms were great, my bed was very comfortable and fluffy, but the sheets smelled like fish! The shower was great. The casino is very small. The bar was a happening place for singles and business travelers. I only ate at the restaurant for breakfast. Unfortunately, it?s located next to the casino which means the smoke can bother your meal. Overall it was nice, but for the cost, I?d stay on the strip.
Wasted Potential and Hide Your Wallet - posted on 01/08/2006
Room was nice, but the bath was not clean (hair and who knows what else on the floor and in tub). Staff was indifferent, not mean spirited, but not engaged to the customer. Hidden charges are like sneak attacks. Once you found out about them you are 14 miles from town ... so pay up or pack up. Hidden charges leave people really upset. Be honest and offer full disclosure!!

Pleasant surprise - posted on 12/31/2005
The Westin is a great alternative to a strip hotel. It is only two blocks off of the main drag, 1 block from the new monorail, clean, and the beds are the best! Except for the hallways which seemed in need of a little vacuming, overall the hotel offered great service and a nice restaurant on site. Would definitely stay there again.
Love the Bed! - posted on 09/30/2005
Heavenly bed is great. Room very nice. Pleasant stay all in all. Monorail stop at Bally's not far. Had to hunt down waitress in small casino for drinks three times.

We love staying at a Westin when we travel and this trip was no exception. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was excellent and the bed is heavenly. The bathroom is nice and spacious. Room service was superb. Great room for a great price.

This hotel made my stay in Las Vegas very pleasant. Staff was friendly and brought a bed for my chihuahua, which he really liked. My halls were quiet. A very nice luxury room for the price, and close to the strip. Would stay here again.
Loved it! - posted on 06/13/2005
This was our first time at a Westin so we didn't know what to expect. It was FABULOUS! The staff went above and beyond for us. There was a problem with our air conditioning unit. We were promptly moved to a deluxe room, given a nice gift basket and gift certificate for the restaurant (were we enjoyed a delicious lunch). We loved our Heavenly Bed and Bath! We already have our next trip planned to Vegas and we're again staying at the Westin. We probably will gamble elsewhere, as the slots there were mighty tight!
My experience... - posted on 04/12/2005
This is a nice place if you get a good discount. Beds are fabulous. Staff helpful. Restaurant is limited and expensive. Casino is quiet and not real inviting. Have to walk through seedy area to get to strip. I would recommend a place on the strip. Not up to the Westin standards.
First trip to Las Vegas - posted on 02/24/2005
This hotel was perfect for our first visit to Las Vegas. The hotel staff were excellent and the rooms were very good. The bed was very comfortable. The Casino was the best part for me personally. I liked the smaller casino atmosphere (less people and not as smokey) it was very clean!
