The hotel was beautiful. Spacious rooms, nice casino, great choice of restaurants. But be prepared to do a lot of walking! Luxor and Excalibur accessible via free shuttle. For others use taxi or the expensive monorail. Aquarium is OK, but no SeaWorld.

Exciting place to be - posted on 01/31/2006

We had a wonderful time at the Mandalay, although we wanted some gaming tables with lower maximum bets. The food was wonderful everywhere we ate. We went to the gospel brunch at the House of Blues which was very exciting and fun. The seating arrangement at brunch wasn't so great, so I recommend getting there early. The hotel was gorgeous and everyone was very welcoming. I would stay again, but would like to visit in the summer to see the beach access pool. It was closed for renovations.

Our room came with a food voucher. When we tried to sign for a meal we were told that there were computer problems between the restaurant and the hotel, we would have pay for the meal and get reimbursed at check-out. When I presented the receipt at check-out, I was told that there were no computer problems. I had to go back to the restaurant For a refund. He said he could'nt do anything, a different company ran the restaurant. I don't care what the hotel's organization is. Guests should not be the ones trying to correct the hotel's communications problems.

A nice hotel. Nice conference facility. Rooms are standard. (as compared to the more "elegant" rooms in the Venitian. However there are no dedicated non-smoking rooms, at least according to the front desk person that told me that when I tried to change to a room that didn't have a smoky odor to it (mild)

What Happened? - posted on 09/13/2005

3rd visit in 2 yrs. At check-in, no room booked for first night. Wouldn't honor package due to incorrect booking "codes". Located a room, but check-in took an hour. Room service took 1-1/2 hours. Room carpet was filthy with huge dirty stains. Cocktail servers were slow and rude. However, food at Border Grill was outstanding. Casino spacious and beautifully decorated. Pool area beautiful (very hard to find open chairs). Bell service excellent, efficient and courteous. Overall there was a noted decline in customer service from last two stays,

Too much hassle for too much money! - posted on 08/12/2005

Check-in took over 30 minutes. The "deluxe" room we paid for had a great view on the top floor, but it was unbearably hot, so we asked for a different room. We were shuffled (after another wait in line) to a smoking room with no view, then, finally,(after another wait in line) to an OK room with a view of the strip. The elevators always had a waiting line, so people crowded in whenever they could find a space. The wave pool was nice but it was difficult to find an open lounge chair or a vacant spot on the beach.

Mandalay Bay Resort has many wonderful restaurant options and activities for the non-gambling couple. The only two negative comments we have about the resort are: 1) poor signage for people checking into the hotel and 2) the walls of hotel rooms are very thin. Overall, we had a very good trip and would recommend it to other couples. The pina coladas at "the beach" were wonderful!

Great Stay at Mandalay Bay - posted on 05/17/2007

Top of the line property. If it hadn't been so long since we visited Las Vegas, we probably wouldn't have left. From the large room with 2 flat screen TVs, to the multitude of restaurants/bars, to the world-class spa -- everything we needed was at Mandalay Bay. The wave pool with the sand beach was the biggest highlight of the stay. All-in-all I would highly recommend staying at Mandalay Bay and am sure to do so myself in the future.

We loved the Mandalay Bay resort. It was by far the cleanest and freshest smelling hotel and casino we visited. The whole outside pool area makes you feel like you are at a tropical island or truly an oasis in the desert. The restaurants were good too. The room was spacious and clean, comfortable and easy to get to. Overall a great stay and we will be back.

Loved the gold room - posted on 04/13/2007

We were immediately upgraded to a "gold" room from the deluxe. The pillowtop bed was the best! Hubby didn't care for it b/c he couldn't get cool (temp of room was 66), but I wish I had one at home. We had a problem with housekeeping. After our first night they forgot to give us hand towels, so I called and was told they'd be brought right up. We never received them, so I went to the front desk to complain the next day. They sent them up after that with extra towels. The grounds and pools were gorgeous. There was also a lot choice with restaurants there.

Huge wave pool with beach area and three other pools. Great views all around. Lots of good restaurant choices. The beds were kinda hard and there was no fridge or microwave in the room (no point in taking dinner leftovers). If you don't have a car, it can take a while to get to other parts of the strip (not very difficult, just long). Rooms could be nicer, but I would definitely stay there again.

room looked clean, except for a hair in the sink, and this funky sewer smell, which was strong went you first opened the door, then kind of faded away. food at house of blues and bayside buffet was excellent. pool looked awesome. never had to wait long for elevators. they were nice enough to upgrade us to an "executive suite" on the 34th floor. awesome view of the strip. didn't like not getting clean towels daily, but i guess they gotta conserve water somehow. otherwise, everything was great. would definetly go back.

I have read many reviews, my experience must have been the best. they were a little under staffed, but the staff they had were first class and friendly. We were upgraded and I can't tell you about our room, clean, large, luxury, first class all the way. We had a blast and after walking through the other hotels and resorts, we always wanted to be back at the Mandalay Bay. The entertainmetn was great. If you liek first class and the finer things in life you will love The Mandalay Bay. Sheila (South Carolina)

Needs better housekeeping staff - posted on 03/27/2007

My wife and I recently spent a week at this hotel. The room was large but not cleaned upon check-in. Housekeeping the rest of the week was terrible (maybe it was because I complained upon check-in?!?). The hotel is beautiful but it can be really crowded expecially in the non-casino areas. Lastly, the food was way overpriced for the quality.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable, but they need some updating (which I've been told is in progress). Location is great. Convenient to the strip, but out of the line of fire. Service was very good. TV stations limited, but you aren't in Vegas to watch TV. Large beach area with wave pool. Nice for kids of all ages. Large friendly casino area. House of Blues. Lots of restaurants. Kind of expensive, but a short walk to food court in the Luxor.

My wife and myself just came back from Vegas on our honeymoon I had stayed at mandalay bay in 03 and enjoyed every minute of it. This time the check in took us over an hour and some of the staff at the hotel needed attitude adjustments. The room servide was great and faster then i remember it being last time. I will probably not go back there due to how me and my wife were treated by several of the staff as inconvienences rather then paying customers.

Nothing without the pool - posted on 12/21/2006

Mandalay apparently has a great pool. Problem is this feature doesn't matter in Dec. when it's snowing [yes Snowing] in Vegas. The pool was drained, and the whole city was cold so there was no benefit to being at one end of the Strip in a hotel with a Great pool. In the off season stay somewhere else. I see no reason to be at Mandalay until May.

The room rug had a large stain, and overall the room seemed to be stale. The clubs were are in need of something new. Can't beat the pool area. Still a great hotel, but if they don't reverese the past two years of trending it will slip to below average.

Mandalay Bay the Complete Resort. - posted on 09/15/2006

The best thing about Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is that it has it all. From 5 star restaurants, great night clubs, the best outdoor pool and lounge area on the strip, to the large selection of casino games, we could not find a reason to leave the resort. My only complaint is the huge markup for the convenience of staying at the resort to drink, eat and play. $6 for a 12oz bottle of Miller Lite or $12.95 for a screwdriver is a little much (even when the drink is 75% grey goose). Overall my wife and I had a great time and will stay again.

This was our first time at Mandalay Bay. Our Check-In was speedy and the room was awesome. 1 in 4 times the room service was bad (cold food; long wait). Longest wait for the elevator was about 15 minutes. Housekeeping was responsive and did good. The only thing this hotel needs is another "family" place to eat. There are a lot of speciality restaurants, so with our young kids the only places to go were the cafe, Red, White, and Blue and the buffet. Liked that everything was spacious.

As it was my first and only time going to Vegas I was wonderstruck as I walked in on Marble floors with giant aquariums in the lobby. I was anticipating an amazing room and experienced a bit of a let down. They were clean enough but everything looked old and a bit worn. They had safes and very nice bathrooms, but little else. Also, it was a bit of a hike to get where you were going. On a higher note however, they do have the BEST outfits in Vegas for the cocktail waitresses! ;)

Carpet was stained, amenities booklet was missing, safe was locked, bathtub was dirty, lipstick was smeared on wall and a power cable was exposed with lifted carpeting. Bed was uncomfortable. Service was disappointing ? we waited over an hour for an amenities booklet and to unlock safe. We requested a room change, and waited on phone on hold a total of 2 hour. New room was slightly larger but was equally unappealing. Elevators broke down. Room keys stopped working. Staff never apologized! Do NOT recommend!

the rooms were beat up, overwhelming smoke odor, carpets stained. Blow dryer didn't work, light burnt out in the shower. Not enough towels at the pool, we were told to come back in 45 minutes, not enough lounge chairs, staff even told us, the reason the pool is so crowded is that they keep building rooms, but do not expand the pools for "regular" people. The "exclusive" pools were deserted. Overall service was terrible, they could not have cared less that we (a group of 8) were unhappy.

Excellent, excellent hotel! Long lines at check in though. Many fine dining options on site. Do take advantage of the Spa - not to be missed!

I would not recommend this hotel. The pool area was always crowded. They do not have enough space for guests. They ran out of pool towels and the staff was rude. Lights burned out in out room and the shower didn't work properly. I was also kinda shocked that they charged $20 cover to the Rum Jungle during times when the club was abosolutly dead. I have stayed in Las Vegas before but this was by far the worst experiece I have had with any hotel.

Not enougn time to put up with low quality - posted on 05/20/2006

You don't have much time in Vegas and to waste your time wondering if your room was clean or being snubbed by the staff just isn't acceptable. Our room was questionable the price was more then the last minute reservation quote.

Nice hotel. I have stayed at a ton of vegas properties and this one is average for that level on the strip. The only real prob. was that the shower in my room sucked

This is a beautiful hotel with a great pool area. Two dislikes-it is so big that it was confusing to get around inside. Pool area was too crowded, no lounges available.

The hotel is very easy to get to and from places - the free monorail to the Tram that takes you down the strip - The pools are to die for - The service was great - and the best chocolate cake at 2:00am -

The walk from the parking structure to check in was horribly long. The resteraunts expensive and most closed until 5:00. Room service was reasonably priced, but took 90 minutes. Hallways very loud, we could hear door sclosing within 5-10 rooms. Our very favorite place was the Rum Jungle. After 11:00 the bar was awesome. Great entertainment/music. Can't wait to go back just for that place. Loved the Red/White/Blue Cafe, but wait was too long when cafe had more then 1/2 of the tables open.

all pools closed for construction but one small; 2 restaurants closed for remodel, but food is cheaper at neighboring casinos; casino area closed on rotation for recarpeting; in room - thick dust on all furniture, carpet stained, hole in wall..and supposed to be one of the better class on the strip, or priced as if

Over rated! - posted on 03/30/2006

The big sell at the Mandalay is the pool, but it was closed. They squeezed all of the guests into a pool that was way too small for the number of people that were there. There were other pools however they were only available to the high rollers. The restaraunts had great food, but were WAY overpriced. When did it become normal to get an appetizer for $30 in Vegas? The service was unoccommidating and pushy.

Over priced for what you get. No coffee in the room. Lights were burnt out. We stayed 2 nights and room service didn't clean the tub. Ate at the Red White and Blue, service was terrible food was cold. but all other service was great and the hotel was one of the more beautiful ones. Check in and out was a breeze.

My husband and I decided to go to Vegas at the last minute. Stayed for 4 nights. Mandalay Bay is beautiful. Very big. Saw the INXS show. Casino very nice. A lot of fine dining places. Not enough casual dining. VERY crowded on Saturday night. Room was very nice and quiet. Food was good. Met some rude people but that is true anywhere. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely go back. Loved the trams to the other nearby casinos. Very easy access. Room had a beautiful view of the mountains and sunrise.

Beautiful Hotel - posted on 11/30/2005

We stayed there for a conference and it is pretty spread out so there is a lot of walking. We went in December, so could not enjoy the pool. But the ammenities are excellent- many varied restaurants. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are gorgeous. Very nice. Friendly staff too.

50 @ Mandalay - posted on 08/01/2005

My husband and I celebrated my 50th birthday at Mandalay Bay. The room/suite was large and nicely decorated. There was, however, no fan or exhaust in the bathroom portions and the overall air conditioning was having trouble keeping ahead of the record-breaking heat. Pools were crowded with kids and closed off and on due to lightening in the area. Too much cigar smoke in casino, but overall we enjoyed our stay.
