Loved the room - posted on 07/05/2006

My husband and I had a great time in Vegas for the first time. Loved the the room. We almost did not want to leave. The bathroom was awesome. The only probelm we had were the renovations. But understandable as the hotel is changing the name to Planet Hollywood. Hope it will fare as well as the Aladdin. Looking forward to coming back.

Alladin Magic - posted on 01/25/2006

The Alladin Resort and Casino was great. Great location, that's what mattered to me in the end and likely to you. Smack in the middle of the best location on the strip and they even upgraded my room for free at no extra cost, which was quite a surprise and comfort. The room I stayed in was clean, roomy and comfortable--and, yes, the bathroom was huge like I see other reviewers mention. Not to mention a great panoramic view of the strip from the upgraded suite. So I am grateful to the Casino and Resort, Thank You!

This is the shoddiest hotel I - posted on 09/06/2005

I have no idea how this can qualify as a 4 star hotel. The room is like a 3 star motel with very cheap bedding and furnishings and there were only 3 small pillows for 2 people.

Pluses and minus - posted on 06/03/2007

First, I called citing a delay in our checkin. Rep was very polite no problem-our room would be there and that they would note delay. Next, upon arrival for checkin-they upgraded our room reservation without any upgrade request. Room was lovely suite - great view and out of this world bathroom. Only disappointment was parking garage on the other side of a public mall and we had to drag our luggage through mall amongst shoppers and strollers. The distance was no problem-just the discomfort of airing personal effects through the crowds.

No Longer Aladdin - posted on 06/01/2007

The new Planet Hollywood is an excellent hotel, with large rooms (the bathroom was huge), and a friendly staff. The buffet was huge and tasty, and the other restaurants were also good. There's also a mall attached (same as every casino/hotel) for convenient shopping, just in case.

Planet Hollywood Rocks!! - posted on 05/27/2007

This hotel is awesome! I was extremely impressed at the changes made there. The casino was great, and the room was beautiful. The only downfall was the view from our room was of the construction out front. But the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on. The bathroom was enormous!! The buffet here is the absolute best in Vegas! The shops are great and the entertainment was wonderful as well! Fantastic location! I would recommend this hotel to everyone and I can't wait to go back and stay there again!!

great location - posted on 05/23/2007

The hotel needs refrigerator and coffee in room. Needs signs in the casino like some other hotels. Construction workers woke me up at 6:30 am on Monday banging on the building next to my window. Overall the room was nice. Left note the first night to get extra towels. Watch the Tour ticket sale booth in mall, they charge fees that they do not tell you about.

Good Experience - posted on 05/14/2007

Our stay at Planet Hollywood was very good, the staff was courteous and friendly. We were given an upgrade that overlooked the strip with a fantastic view of Bellagio, and the Tower at Paris, wonderful. The shower did not work properly- hotel responded immediately and when they could not fix it to my satisfaction the upgrade was then offered. Staff was very friendly and guest services was very helpful in getting us a late check-out as well as limo service (free) to airport. Would stay there on next trip.

Great Vacation - posted on 05/12/2007

Room was great except the TV needs to be placed in front of the beds for easier viewing. Doors to cabinet that hold the TV need to be removed. They don't open wide enough and they don't stay open. Bathroom was awesome. Love the extra large bath tub. Bathroom is large enough for 4 people. Two sinks with long mirror. Liked the toilet with separate door. Didn't like the see through shower door. No privacy if others are using the bathroom.

Good service, Clean rooms, Ban Time Share Touts - posted on 05/10/2007

Check in, Cleaning, and general Hotel Staff were friendly and done a great job. Room was clean with great views of Bellagio fountain. However the downside is that Time share Touts are waiting to pounce on you as you exit the elevators. We have stayed at Bellagio, Wynn, Benetian, Treasure Island etc on previous occasions and have to say Planet Hollywood offered excellent value for money. The chinese restaraunt in the casino is excellent.

A+ Hotel - posted on 05/09/2007

Planet Hollywood is a great place to stay in Las Vegas. It is centered in the middle of the strip and there are many dining options there. The swimming pools were a bit plain, compared to the other hotels, but were big enough for all the guests. The entire staff was very helpful and polite.

Disappointed - posted on 05/08/2007

We were extremely disappointed. Staff was not at all friendly. Used iron which left black marks on garments. When situation explained to staff nobody even cared. Was told our room had a view of the Bellagio, it didn't!! Had to leave notes every day for additional towels.Fight broke out in the lobby and there was no security to be found. Casino was loud. Not marked well for finding restaurants, restrooms, etc. On a good note, bathroom was awesome. Large and clean. Cafe food was great, staff was very friendly. Should consider moving these individuals to front desk.

notice would have been nice - posted on 05/04/2007

The hotel is undergoing serious renovations on the exterior which limited the direct exit to the strip to ONE. You couldn't enter the hotel parking from the strip and needed to be rerouted to the back street entrance. When I checked in I was told that my two rooms would have to be one seperate floors. I found that unacceptable and asked that the issue be resolved. After about ten minutes of searching, I was given an "upgrade" to two adjacent rooms. My room had a plumbing issue where the shower and sink drained VERY slowly. I'll think twice before staying here again.

Rude casino staff, very noisy casino, and they want people to gamble here???? Casino layout is confusing, and there are not a lot of signs directing people to restaurants, etc. Front desk clerk very polite (upgraded to Bellagio Fountain view room). Room was small for 2 queen beds, and maintenance issues in the room need to be addressed.

I was definitely disappointed. As long as you don't mind taking lukewarm showers (the temperature is fine in the afternoon) and like standing in a pool of scuzzy water because the drain doesn't work, then go ahead and stay here. My room had all of the old Aladdin decor. I know that they are in the middle of a remodel/conversion, but I thought they'd make it nice! I won't stay here again.

Happy Holidays - posted on 04/11/2007

The hotel was very nice, especially our room. Check in was very fast. I enjoyed the casino, not too crowded and I won. One pool was under construction and front entrance also under construction, which was a nuisance. The rewards program has room for improvement. No information or instructions given when you receive the card. Different answers every time you ask a question. i.e. I had over 45 points on my card and my sister only had around 7. You needed 20 points to get a $10 discount on the buffet. Was not told that you could only use one per card till I cashed my points in.

On the last day at the hotel the maid knocked on our door at 9am to ask when we where leaving. We told her 11am (which is the check out time) She came back repeatedly and also said it was her last room and needed to get it done. In all she knocked 5 times before 11am when we finally left the room. This was the worst part of the stay. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

Management is a Nightmare! - posted on 04/03/2007

The hotel was under construction, knowing this, we would NEVER have selected the hotel. We woke to the sound of jackhammers everyday at 5:30am. When we asked Management to postpone construction to a reasonable hour, they told us the contracting company was under contract and nothing could be done. We tried to check in at 10:00 pm and were told the room would not be ready for 2 hours. The icing on the cake is they only allow 1 additional hour for late checkout or charge an additional night stay?no exceptions. The positive aspect was the room was extremely clean...good maid service.

The staff is great, the room service is prompt, and the desert passage shops allow you to buy water, snacks, and wine to bring up to the room for convenience. PF Changs located inside as well. Currently undergoing transformation to Planet Hollywood. Appears to have finished most interior work and it is very nice. Still working on exterior which cause only a minor inconvience when going out to the boulevard. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom had a large tub you can easily stretch out and relax in. We go to Vegas every Christmas and have always spent a lot of time at the Aladdin, so this year we decided to stay there during the renovation. We got a fountain view room on the 32 floor without even asking. The room and facilities even with the remodel were great. Our only issue is the walk to the parking garage, helped us walk off the breakfast. And no coffee in the room, had to schlep down to the coffee places in Desert passage. All in all, a great place, good service and very relaxed. You can't go wrong here.

Aladdin has been bought by Planet Hollywood and is being renovated while guest stay in the hotel. The front doors are gone, so to get to the strip, you have to walk a LONG way through the mall. Parking is worse. The atmosphere is terrible. Our room had not yet been remodeld, so there were missing amenities that were promised on the web site, ie a safe for jewelry and laptop. There is no atmosphere. Lastly everytime you walked on or off the elevator you were hounded to buy a time share. Terrible!!

We found the room to be clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great-oversized bathtub, separate shower and separate room for the toilet. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpfull. We got an upgrade to a fountain view of the Bellagio for no extra cost. Our only complaint would be the actual physical set up of the hotel. It took us a few days to get our bearings and be able to navigate our way to our room, the strip and the shopping mall. Construction was taking place but it did not adversly effect our stay. We would stay at the Aladdin again in a heartbeat.

The front of the hotel is under construction, scaffolding and trucks everywhere. Garbage on the lobby floors, rips in carpets. What a dump. This Resort and Casino has a great location (across from Belagio) and room size for the price. The outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are basic, but nice. Other resort pools are more lavish, but come at a much higher room rate. The deluxe room size was large and had a bathroom with separate tub/sink, shower and toilet areas. The casino is being redone as Planet Hollywood, but the completed areas need more warmth and detail. The Cafe coffee is better than Starbucks and PF Chang's has the best Chinese food.

I do not recommend staying here until the conversion to Planet Hollywood is complete. You have to walk through a back hallway at the valet stand to get to the lobby. Then its a make shift check in area where they also threw some casino games. Then some tries to sell you a timeshare tour. Alot of better options for the $$ spent.

We were concerned with the construction associated with the change to Planet Hollywood. There was some inconvience with the temporary check in area, but it was not a big problem. The casino changeover looks to be about 50% complete and is moving very fast. One day there will be a temporary wall and the next morning the area will be totally remodled with new machines and tables. Buffet was half the size on mezzine floor moving the week after we left to regular area. Construction in casino .. What a dump. Would never stay there again.

I was actually disappointed with the rooms. They supplied only two sets of towels, which was not enough for females! Beds were not comfortable. Our sheet had a hole in it. The night lamp wasn't working. I was very surprised Aladdin is a Starwood property. I felt it didn't meet the Starwood reputation. I will not stay at this hotel again. The only positive thing I can say is that it was clean.

The suite was beautiful, great view. Luckily, noted no towels to be found, prior to my shower. Tub and shower, no towels. Did not note that the vanity pack that was to be in the room was missing. Ended up shampooing and showering with a 1/2 bottle of used shower gel left in the room. The hotel was apologetic and offered an upgrade on my next visit in the next year. Don't know if there will be!

we stayed at the Alladin for only one nite. We checked in early and although our room wasn't quite ready, we were still allow access to the pool and walked around the shops. Very clean, nice rooms. It was alot of walking if you park in the garage, I suggest the valet. The south elevators were messed up and wouldn't go to the mezzanine but other than that, staying here was a treat.

NO MAIN ENTERANCE OR REAL LOBBY. You have to enter through the parking garage or casino. Mezzanine is made up of temporary construction style walls. ONLY HALF THE POOL WAS OPEN the whole week we were there. The casino and halls were VERY SMOKEY & the room service carts were GRIMEY. Deluxe room = very average "travel lodge" style room. The manager upgraded us to a strip suite (the only customer service we experienced). It was much nicer. With all of the hotel choices in Vegas and on the strip I would not recommended this one to anyone

Lombardi's stick w/ the pizza. The V show, had a great time. There is construction going on in the front and throughout the hotel. Overall, a great hotel would stay again. Aladdin or Planet Hollywood...hurry and decide! - posted on 08/23/2006

I can't say if it was the "rewards" people around every turn or the overpriced, understaffed and unorganized restaurants that made this stay a nightmare. Theme in room was Planet Hollywood and Aladdin. Don Johnsons Miami Vice pants were hanging on the wall and an ali-baba comforter was on the bed. Spent 30 minutes at the front desk arguing with the clerk because they gave my room (that I already paid for) away. Finally "found" a room for me and acted as if should be oh so grateful. Cheap room was the only perk to this stay.

Only issue was the maid would only leave enough towels for 2 no matter how many times we asked. The construction wasn?t horrible, but a lot of sections of the casino, hotel and mall were closed off. The elevators & lobby had a funny perfumy smell. We received great service everywhere tho, and the buffet was amazing!

Alladin is changing to Planet Hollywood, so I guess thats why we got such a good deal. The bartenders were rude. The ONLY place to eat after 10pm is Zanzibar which seems odd to me in Vegas. Alladin has the most unfriendly staff of the 7 casinos we spent time in. The Spice Market buffet was awful, this is odd because our friends who live in Vegas had eaten there only two weeks before and raved about it. They agreed that the food was bad and the service was terrible. The bathrooms are awesome.

We've stayed here before and loved it, but be careful booking at the Aladdin now, unless you don't mind the restructuring of the building! What used to be a short walk is now a time-consuming jaunt around all the new inside "walls" that are hiding the construction. Jack-hammers, dust, and inconvenient locations of guest services is the norm now until the change to Planet Hollywood is complete. Recommendation: Stay away until it' completed!

The room was sparce - few decorations - none in the bathroom. The hair dryer did not work, the shower head was broken and the bulbs in several lamps were burned. No maintenance in this room. When I pointed out the head to the maid, she told me it was OK - even though it just hung there and did not spray out - you had to literally stand with your back to the tile to get under the water spout. Since the hotel built was after Bellagio & Venetian were up and running, I figured Aladdin would be comparable to Bellagio. I was terribly disappointed even though price was very reasonable. Didn't find out about the $4 pedi-cabs (should be FREE, without limit) until I was all the way to registration. Only problems were the $30 extra per night for 3rd person in the room and the $25/day fitness center fee. Main reason we booked this hotel was to be close to the Criss Angel filming. Had heard good things about the Aladdin regarding big rooms/bathrooms and at a good price... we were not disappointed!! This was my first trip to LV; my hubby's 4th. We had a total blast! The hotel is close to everything and the Elemis Spa is beyond belief. We are already planning our next trip!!

Why Change to Planet Hollywood? - posted on 01/26/2006

This place was awesome! Bathroom huge and gorgeous! Lovely view of Bellagio Fountains. I see no need to change to the Planet Hollywood. Wonderful and worth the money. Only problem was the constant haggling of the time share people out front. Tell them you're on your way to the airport in an hour so they'll leave you alone!

So I am grateful to the Casino and Resort, Thank You!

the hotel itself is great and I love the alladin had a great view of the strip and the fountains at ballagio only thing that was bad was the remodel/change over to "planet hollywood" this hotel was great before the change over took away from what is..some things should be left alone

Excellent - posted on 01/20/2006

Not the Bellagio,Caesars, or Wynns - But extremely very affordable and an excellent place to stay. Rooms were large, beds & pillows very comfortable, Excellent Food, Outstanding view of the Eiffel Tower and Bellagio Fountains (37th floor), Surprisingly quiet, FAST and uncrowded elevators, Great ventilation in (friendly) casinos. Excellent location between Ceasars, Bellagio, Paris, NY NY and MGM - walking distance. Thanks for a nice comfortable 4 nights.

pleasantly surprised - posted on 01/20/2006

I have stayed at most of the finer hotels on the strip and didn't expect this hotel to come close. I got a very good price and was pleasantly surpised by the room and facilities. The shopping was great, PF Changs was terrific, saw shows there and overall was quite impressed.

Alas, Aladdin - posted on 01/17/2006

The Aladdin has rooms with a feel of luxury, but the atmosphere is less than appealing, with all the construction going on. Also, the entire pool level is closed for the season. Maybe give them a few months before planning a visit.

What a Waste - posted on 01/15/2006

Aladdin was only a few days old when we stayed there last year at this time, now its being renovated and taken over by Planet Hollywood. Had I known of the confusion I would not have stayed there. What a waste of scarce resources and my time!
