About the Riviera Hotel and Casino

A stay at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas allows you to travel back in time to the early days of Vegas casino history. In 1955, a group of Miami investors, inspired by the success of the eight other casino hotels on the strip, decided to build a ninth hotel. However, they were determined that the Riviera Hotel would not be a copy cat of the other motor court type hotels. Thus, the opening of Riviera Hotel Las Vegas signified the beginning of the age of glitz in Vegas. Today, you can relive the days of the famous "Rat pack" in the hotel's 2000 refurbished rooms. The million dollar renovation the Riviera Hotel has also resulted in updated meeting rooms and convention facilities.

Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?

Despite it's promise of a trip back in time through Vegas history, the Hotel Riviera seems to get unanimous negative reviews. Reviews are dirty and check in is slow. There were many reports of rude staff members. Requests for non-smoking rooms were not honored. There were also reports of "weird body fluids" on the sheets and walls. At $8.95, a mediocre breakfast buffet was overpriced, and the $12 fee to use the spa was not worth it. Read our customer reviews?
