Stood in line for 45 minutes to check in.Could not understand what the check in people were saying because of poor communication skills. When we asked for any assistance we were treated as if the question was an interruption in their day.My parents payed for 15 people to stay at this place for their 25th wedding anniversary and each and every one of us had a situation where we were treated so rudely it was hard to believe. As for the staff-you are in a customer service position- if you don't like it-get another job where you are not around people!

Very dissapointed with our stay at NYNY. Took 45 minutes to check in, and then we were given the wrong room. Had somone walk in our room while I was in the shower (they were checked into our room too aparantly)!!! Changed rooms the next day and had even more problems. The hotel made no attempt to make our experience better, simply "sorry, there is nothing else we can do."

NY NY is a blast!!! We had a group of 9 that stayed there and everyone really enjoyed it. The italian restaurant was delicious and the burgers are great at Nine Fine Irishmen as well as the fun staff. I did think the bathrooms in the room were a bit on the small side and the beds were doubles, not queens, as they will tell you. Two people rode the roller coaster and said it was really cool. Great hotel - you could spend your entire trip there. The pool and hot tub area is wonderful.

This hotel was nicer than I expected for the price. I loved the exterior and the main level shops and restaurants. There were even man hole covers with "steam" coming up to complete the effect. The roller coaster was a blast...for my friends! The only thing I wished for that the room did not have was a fridge to keep things cold. The service was exceptional and very friendly.

New York New York is a place to stay if you are up for partying! There is plenty to do within the hotel. Have to try Gallagher's for their steak and the Irish Pub was fun. Only downfall of the trip was the cleanliness of the rooms. All they did was make the bed each day. Bathroom was never cleaned during our stay. Did not ruin our trip. We went with a bunch of people and had a blast!

Safe Box, Make-Up Mirror, Great Breakfast, Wonderful decor. No problem with coaster or noise. Easy to get around and check-in/-out.

Disappointed our rooms were at differnt parts of the hotel when we checked in, had to have them changed the following day I was unhappy with the small swimming pool amd the outrageous price for a bottle of water. The casino area was limited when it came to card tables but that gave the hotel an intimate setting or as close to an intimate setting

The bathroom was quite impressive, pretty big with marble tile. We werent in the room all the much besides to sleep and the housekeeping was good and everything seemed fine. We really enjoyed the ESPN Zone - food and drinks were good, pricey but good. As well as Fine Nine Irishmen, that was quite the treat and I really enjoyed it.Would stay again!!

Rollercoaster shuts down early enough not to interfere with sleep. Asked for extra pillows and hangers all delivered in less than five minutes! Great fun to sit near duelling pianos and still gamble. Everything we wanted was right there. Been to Vegas before will return to NYNY without a doubt. The ladies delivering the free drinks all had great attitudes. Large variety of food . Ok Las Vegas Hotel - posted on 02/23/2007
For Las Vegas, this hotel offered a average casino and rooms. The rooms were ok, although for a farely new hotel, they were poor quality. The roller coaster was ok if you like intense rides. It runs very late, making it very hard to sleep. Beds were ok. I was very upset that the pool was closed because of the nice weather. This hotel also offered easy access to the strip. Overal, an aceptable hotel and casino.

Went for 10-year anniversary. Been to Vegas for several conventions, stayed in many different hotels, on the strip and off. The casino, atmosphere and food is great, I would never stay here again. We asked to stay away from roller coaster and were placed right next to it anyways. Also requested a non-smoking floor, and people smoked right next door. Shower had NO HOT WATER in the a.m. We requested partial reimbursement, but they only offered to move us. Went to a better room, but still heard rollercoaster and new noisy neighbors to boot. Party and eat here, stay somewhere else.

When we first walked in we noticed that the casino smells of apples, bad apples. Anyone with an allergy to air freshener should avoid at all costs. The rooms were average and the dining mediocre, Il Fornaio was horrible and America wasn't much better. The casino was ok, won some lost some. Overall if you want an average stay in Vegas this would be the place to go, just watch out for drunk people rolling down the stairs at around 9:30p.m.

I expect lots of smoke-filled rooms at LV. But the cigars? So rude...Also, the amount of unsupervised children (everywhere: casino, halls, pool, etc.) was unbelievable. Parents--if you insist on taking young children to Vegas (?), please don't let them run wild. It's not safe for them OR for others. Next time, my friends and I will stay at the Wynn. It's worth the extra $$ to not have to deal with little kids running through your legs:)
NY-NY Disappointing - posted on 01/25/2007
Our most recent Las Vegas trip included a 3 day stay at NY-NY. We were very disappointed with the simple, small, sparse hotel room with cheap pillows, a cheesy armoire and no fridge or coffeepot. The bathroom was tiny with terrible lighting for putting on makeup, etc. There was a tacky lighted magnification mirror that wasn't much better. Although the casino was cool and nicely laid out, the blackjack and craps dealers were quite unfriendly. Bottom line, staying at NY-NY is not worth the price.

Only complaints: bathroom sink drain didn't open but they fixed it quickly; someone else's room service tray was left out in the hallway for 2 days before we had to call them to come pick it up; hard beds; casino area is too smoky, but hey it's Vegas. Stayed at hotel 12/17/06 - 12/20/06. Room was unthoughtful, TV did not work, room type was not given (although I did check in early), and AC/Heat is not quickly effective. Had to change to another room which had something nasty in the bathtub and the was a gap in the ceiling where you could hear EVERY word of conversation in the adjacent rooms. My rate was for $64/night and included an "upgrade" to a "renovated" Park Avenue room and a bunch of useless coupons. Casino did not pay out well. Take your money to a 4 star hotel. My sister needed a seamstress, called the front desk for help and was told she needed to look in the yellow pages(very rudely). When we started gambling, it was almost 30 minutes before we had a waitress walk by. They put a $150 hold on your credit card and when we got home my sister's card had been charged $300! Will NEVER stay here again and would NEVER recommend it to anyone! The only good thing was the rooms were clean.

We will stay there again.

We had booked a Skyline before we arrived, but no king size beds were, so we upgraded to the next level. The room was big with hot tub. Too big for my taste, decor outdate, so 90s, not New York at all. Aircondition was very noise even though we turned it off. Rooms clean and comfortable beds. The lobby and casino area was nice. If you got the cash, stay at the Bellagio or somewhere more in the middle of the Strip. The buses that run along the Strip are sometimes so crowded you can't get on them. Pool area was very poor, smal, no shaded areas and too crowded. The pool was nice and cool though.

Then the next day we had a room switch to the room we had payed for. We were very dissapointed our first night and they never made it up to us or even gave us our money back for down grading. The second two nights were good though great restraunt atmosphere in the casino but pretty pricey, bring lots of $$$.

I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME ON MY 1ST TRIP TO VEGAS. THE NEW YORK NEW YORK CASINO & HOTEL WAS BEAUTIFUL. I LOVED THE WAY THE HOTEL TOWERS WERE BUILT LIKE REAL NEW YORK BUILDINGS. ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T RIDE THE ROLLER COASTER, IT LOOKED LIKE FUN. THE STAFF WAS COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY. THE AMERICA RESTAURANT HAD THE BEST BREAKFAST MENU. THE SPA/GYM/POOL AREA WAS WONDERFUL. THE STAFF WAS VERY ATTENTIVE. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE NEW YORK NEW YORK.
All you need at NYNY - posted on 04/23/2006
We loved the hotel. The casino offered something for every gamer w/o being too large. We usually go ga-ga for Vegas buffets, yet the restaurants at NYNY were fantastic and we skipped the buffets. The NY style pizza place stays open 'till 3am! Our only disappointment was that we paid for a Broadway room upgrade and our friends did not. However their room had a fresh new look and although it was 50-100 sq. feet smaller, it was much nicer regarding the bedding & decor. Overall I've been recommending NYNY since we got home.

First night we ended up with a smoking room. They moved us the next day. Even the smoking room wasn't to bad. Great looking casino from the outside. Very crowded on the inside. You felt like you were in NY being shoulder to shoulder with all the people. Very nice room and would stay there again.
NY Buffet? - posted on 04/17/2006
The room was very nice and clean though the walk to the room from the elevator was maze-like and long. Great NY style deli but wish they had a buffet in the hotel. The Chin Chin restaurant had a below average breakfast buffet only.

We enjoyed our stay at the New York New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The hotel had all the amenities one would need including great restaurants, bars, and Starbucks.

The rooms are very comfortable and the decor is a throw back to the 20's and 30's art deco style. The restaurants are cool and the food was great. I appreciated the location of the hotel as the 515 highway was only 15 minutes away. The only bad thing is if you have a room towards the front of the hotel... You have to listen to the roller coaster until about 12pm. I would definately stay there again. The casino seemed kind of sparse and not quite as nice as some of the other casinos I viewed, but then again it was also better than some I saw too... Overall a nice place and not too $$$

this was our first time to vegas and new york new york was wonderful to stay at. it is definetly a party place. a good place for younger couples. we truly enjoyed ourselves. excellent resturaunts. would recommend. my only complaint was it's location. we didn't realize that it's at one of the strip.

This hotel had the most friendliest workers that I had ever encountered, and I loved the room. Most of the dealers were willing to explain how to play the games. You definitely get what you pay for. The Americana restaurant could get some better waiters. They were horrible.

BEWARE - posted on 03/22/2006
BEWARE. When you ask for a non smoking room, even if it is months in advance, they do not honor. They will put you in a smoking rooom. Very Bad especially for the consumer paying big $$$ for a decent place. Will NEVER recommend or stay at this place again.

We had "reservations" for a non-smoking, king -bed room. Upon check-in we were informed the only rooms available were smoking rooms with double beds. When we questioned the clerk we were informed by him and the manager that there are no such things as reservations at Las Vegas hotels, only "requests". The staff was less than friendly and we were disappointed in NYNY to say the least. Will not stay again.
Best holiday - posted on 03/03/2006
What a great holiday. Stayed 39th floor-brilliant view. Beds, room service, room fit-out were more than we expected. However I am still waiting for bill statement and receipt. Credit has been debited 3 times for the same amount and credited back once. Was told it would be refunded in November 2005 but it has still not happened. As a result I am unable to claim through Visa because of time limits. Not what I wanted to spoil the holiday!!!

This is my second time going to las vegas the first time I stayed at the Luxor which was very good but this time I was shown what vegas has to offer. The NYNY was great me and my fiancee stayed in the Spa suite it was wonderful and I could have stayed in the room the whole time and been happy the tub was amazing and it was right in the living room so you can kick back and relax in the steamy hot tub and watch T.V. I loved the room and I loved this hotel!

Lovely Place - posted on 01/31/2006
We stayed 3 days on business and had a great time. I love the NY street scenes where they incorporate the restaurants and shops into the NY streets. We had a good variety of food and conscessions at reasonable (for LV) prices. The sports bar was excellent and the dinner house was superb. The rooms were very nice. They used to have a little diner-restaurant with a Motown lounge act a few years ago, but they nixed that when we arrived this time; too bad, it was hilarious.
Very Pleased! - posted on 01/27/2006
I was a little worried about taking our two children to Vegas (ages 5 and 8) but this hotel was listed as "kid-friendly". The arcarde was great and the ESPN Game Zone was a hit with our kids too. This hotel was the least smokiest of all of them! We requested a non-smoking floor with a "quiet room" away from the rollercoaster and that's just what we got. The rooms were not very upscale but were still nice and clean. (It's worth it to upgrade to the Broadway room for the extra space if you have kids). Good dining choices- everything from fast food to expensive gourmet cuisine.

The rooms are really nice with very comfortable beds! The hotel had a great selection of bars/ restaurants not to mention the roller coaster. It is centrally located on the strip and I would definitely stay here again...although don't count on a free upgrade here!
Great hotel. Skip the Coyote. - posted on 01/04/2006
My girlfiend and I had a great 3 night stay over Christmas. We were upgraded to a room w/ hot tub. Location is convenient for drivers. Valet was fast and worth a $2+ tip each time. Room was very clean. Elevators were fast. Coyote Ugly was a waste of time and money. The cover charge was too high. ($10) The girls were weak entertainers and even worse dancers. We went to dance and "cut-looose" but the rock music made wall flowers out of most of the guests.

This has to be the best hotel deal in Vegas. Sure, there are cheaper hotels- but the rooms here are fantastic. Plenty of great restaurants (try Gallager's) ensure you don't even have to leave. Not the best casino on earth, but it does its job.
NYNY - Forget About It!!! - posted on 01/02/2006
Stayed 12/17 - 12/21/05 - very disappointed. Requested a room AWAY from the roller coaster... didn't get one. 19th: At 10:30 pm, the room was still not made up. I called. Returned at 12:00 am., the room had not been touched. 20th: the maid took the comforter - we woke up cold. Upon checkout, we told the clerk how our stay REALLY was. I was told the manager would contact me. I emailed this to the management over a week ago -- no response. On a 1-10 scale .... a generous 4.
Mixed Nuts - posted on 12/29/2005
The casino personnel were mediocre, it took multiple requests to get a drink while gambling. Coyote Ugly, not worth the cover, not like the movie or any kind of excitement in the bar.
An okay place to stay - posted on 12/29/2005
I stayed at NY, NY because my girlfriend really likes the place, but I was disappointed. The check-in was slow, the room was small (fine for the price I paid), the casino so smoky that I did not want to stay. The restaurants were very good, however, and the staff were generally fine. Overall, it was an okay place to sleep and eat, but we went elsewhere for everything else.
Pleasant stay in Big Apple - posted on 12/15/2005
We enjoyed this hotel, it's nice and the Piano Bar and Irish Pub were convenient places to hang out. The roller coaster could be a little bit annoying if you were a light sleeper and you were trying to sleep in but overall we didn't find it to be too loud. Main drawback was how far south it was on the strip, but if you don't mind walking or give yourself plenty of time to get up town, you won't mind that either. There is a good variety of lower-cost eating places but if you are looking for a more hightly recommended restaurant you'll have to look elsewhere.

when we arrived we were informed they had no non-smoking rooms. Since my wife and I have asmatics, this was unacceptable. She finally talked to a supervisor and we were put in a lower class room then what we paid for that had two beds! Not impressed with the quality of customer service.

Stayed at New York New York in Las Vegas. This is my 3rd stay there. Rooms was very large (Broadway). The bathroom was very well appointed and soaps and shampoo provided were of a very high quality. Very convenient to cross over to MGM Grand. Parking, as usual, was very well marked and convenient. Stayed on off-nights Sunday and Monday rate was very competitive. Overall, I had a very good experience.

Our first visit to Vegas and what a great hotel, with great rates. Don?t be misled by the travel books - this is not a HI style property, this is a solid 4 star. The theming of this hotel is fun, the location is very good, the entertainment is fair (but hey, there always someplace to go in Vegas), the rooms are comfortable and very clean and the restaurants are fun and not terribly expensive. The service, both restaurant and hotel staff, was very good. I would recommend this property to any frequent Vegas traveler or a first timer.
LOVED IT! - posted on 10/06/2005
My husband and I just returned from Las Vegas and we absolutely LOVED NYNY. We have been to Vegas before but this was our first time staying at NYNY. The front desk people were super-nice and even upgraded our room for free. Our room ended being even cheaper than originally quoted. There is so much to see and do in NYNY. The beds are the most comfortable than any other hotel we've ever stayed at! Never even heard the roller coaster right outside!
Surly Staff - posted on 10/03/2005
The rooms were comfortable and VERY clean. The staff was almost universally surly. At the America restaurant, my husband asked for his dinner to go and went to the room. They brought his dinner when they brought ours. The idea that they could keep his dinner warm while we ate ours seemed a foreign concept. No non-smoking room was available for us. The hotel was VERY noisy...no sleeping in or napping. They REALLY need to work on service. We're not tough to please. It has to be pretty bad for us to be upset.

We booked in at a great rate, Very pleased with Park Ave Room. Right next to elevator hotel is convenient to most everything on strip (within walking distance) While the casino is fine I perferred to gamble in some of the nicer casinos ...NY NY theme can be a little over bearing .. Overall I would recommend to my friends although wouldn't pay over 165 a night . Yes pool area is a little small don't show up expecting to find a chair right away. Service was excellent hotel is just the right size it doesn't take 20 minutes to walk like a MGM grand does.

We had a great stay. Breakfast was awesome, try the brushettta with eggs or simply the bread basket. Fun casino to play in, didn't win much though! Kids two 15year olds had fun in Coney Island and we felt comfortable letting them go alone. Everyone was wonderful to us and the room attendants did a fabulous job every day!
