Too far from strip - posted on 06/01/2007

This hotel is too far from the strip. Dont plan to walk otherwise you will get tired even before you reach the actual portion of the strip. There are no nearby eating places so either you eat in the resturants within the hotel or walk all the way to the strip. Otherwise rooms and the hotel are really good.

I reserved a King room welll in advance of my stay-My husband is 6'3" and 220lbs. At chk in we were only able to get a queen bed, which made for 3 uncomfortable nights of sleep. Additionally the rooms in the older towers are in desperate need of face lifts. They are pretty outdated, especially the bathrooms.

NO COFFEEMAKER! - posted on 05/22/2007

The monorail stops at the hotel and only takes a few minutes to get to the other end of the strip. The rooms were odd in the fact there was no coffeemaker (room service coffee was $7.50 for one person) and no fridge. Bottled water in the room was $4.00. We walked 5 feet to the ice cold vending machine and bought the same water for $2.00. Staff was very friendly and breakfast buffet was good. The pool is small for the number of rooms and is very plain. Nothing fancy, just a pool. Sunday the pool was closed till 11:00am because there was no lifeguard. Bummer!

Have stayed here many times - posted on 05/21/2007

Having been to the Hilton 4 times in the past 5 years I was a little disappointed at the lack of customer service. Since Resorts Int. took over they do not seem to provide the features they have in the past. No concierge, check-in staff unattentive. Will be staying elsewhere when I go back in Sept. which is sad because I really enjoyed the Hilton previously.

Johnny Mathis - posted on 05/17/2007

We were in town to see Johnny Mathis, and stayed at the LV Hilton where he was playing. Every employee I came in contact with was very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. My only quibble is with the standard room. Iron and ironing board, but no coffeemaker? I don't know many people who iron on vacation, but most would like coffee before heading out. Also, the LV Hilton is a bit secluded from the Strip, consider that unless you plan on buying an all-day pass. Or you're going to a concert at the hotel. Overall, I'm fairly satisfied.

Service Needed - posted on 05/17/2007

The Las Vegas Hilton, one would expect to be treated like "the King." Maybe not Elvis, but better than a number in a long line waiting over 25 minutes to check in. Every aspect of service lacks from check in to the the restruants (except Quark's) to the pool side bar and especially on the gaming floor. We took our gambling dollar to the strip where we did win some, lost much but enjoyed great service. I will not be staying at the Las Vegas Hilton again.

bad food bad service - posted on 05/15/2007

My husband and I stayed here mother's day weekend. Check-in took 25 min. The elevator was extremely slow. Went to dine at the 24hr resturant, only to wait 35min and walk out.Lastly forgot my daugther's teddy, the one she has to have to go to sleep. Called the hotel, they found it but I had to pay $15 for the shipping cost that took 6 days to arrive!!! I have forgotten stuff at other hotels and have never had to pay anything to get it ship to my house.

Had a very good time. Yes i would good back to this hotel.. Went out with $1000.00 came back with 4500.00 and a free 3day 2night stay. The room we had was good compare to the rooms of the we get in DC.. plus we didn't even opened the shade until it was time to go home. We didn't go to vegas for the view, we went for fun, joy and entertainment... We came back as Winners and set aside enough money to go back in a few months.. Overall everything was good..

Loved the Hilton!!! - posted on 05/07/2007

After reading some of the other reviews, I had some concerns, but the Hilton went above and beyond what I had expected. Very friendly staff and a wonderful room with a great view. Get the upgrade room for $-... it really made the experience complete. Monorail is easy to locate and the Star Trek Experience / Quark's Bar is not to be missed. The monorail makes access to the strip very easy and the distance the hotel sits from the strip lets you "get away" from the crowds of Las Vegas for a retreat. Can't wait to go again and will certainly pick the Hilton for future trips to Vegas.

Hilton Stay - posted on 05/06/2007

The Hilton was convenient and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only drawback would be the bathrooms, especially the tub area. There was mold around the tub/shower, which makes one wonder about the cleanliness of the entire area. We were in room 1106 of the central tower. We were also surprised that there was no coffee maker in the room. Overall, our stay was most enjoyable.

Great room for a budget price! Our East tower room had large tub/shower and bathroom. Comfortable queen size beds with down comforter. Nice pool & pool side service - little slow on drink delivery. Close enough to the strip without being on the strip. Quick $9 mono-rail ride to strip right from hotel. Would be nicer if parking garage were attached to hotel.

Overall great stay! - posted on 04/09/2007

This was a good hotel to stay at. Nice clean room, good size and not your typical run down Vegas hotel. Daily charge of 11.99 for 24hr of internet access was not very user friendly and not exactly high speed. The Starbucks in the lobby has free internet access if you don't mind the walk. If you self park, try and stay in the North Tower as it is closer to the parking lot. Overall, for the cost we paid, it was well worth it compared to other similiar priced hotels and absolutely recommend for future trips to Vegas if you want something moderately priced and not too far from the action.

All in all the hotel was nice and clean, but they charge for EVERYTHING. You couldn't get a bottle of water there for less than $4, how about a couple of free bottles of water! We also had to upgrade our room for an extra $* an night for a decent room. Also, they should provide a shuttle from the hotel to the airport.

I ask for the renovated room and it was very nice, just two things, 1.- The bathroom that my husband and I got was for small people, the shower was too low and also the small mirror, and 2.- The carpet was very very dirty, I notice this because I just bought some tennis socks and I put them on after taking a shower and by the time I got ready, my socks were very dirty, that I didn`t like at all, but every thing else was very good, the food, the casino and the service was great, I will definitely go back!

THE STEAK AND SEA FOOD RESTAURANT WAS SUPERB. THE BARRY MANALOW CONCERT WAS A JOY AND THE PLAY, MENAPAUSE, WAS HILIARIOUS. WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AND WOULD RECOMMEND THE LAS VEGAS HILTON TO EVERYONE.

From the airport you are use Bell Transportation to get to the hotel for only $5.50. But be aware you will be the last stop so it may take longer then if you grabbed a cab. The hotel desk asked if I would like to upgrade my room for only 50.00 so I took advantage of it after the long flight. The room was great. You can take the monorail from the hotel to the rest of the strip. I would suggest a day pass, makes it eaiser.

We were able to switch to another room. I was also disappointed in the housekeeping department when we asked for extra pillows and extra towels and it took them over an hour to get them to us. When I asked what had taken so long, I was informed that they were preparing for an event that was happening the next evening. It bothered me that hotel guests that were there at the present time were put on hold to prepare for something that was not even happening for another 16 hours!

Monorail is the best feature. Rooms are pretty good. We had a great view, especially at night. Parking has security which is important in this city. Couldn't get room safe working due to constant busy signal on room phone. Rooms need an update. We had a nonsmoking room with burn holes in the bedspread and carpet. Bathtub and shower was really small. Rooms are ok for Vegas though because you don't spend much time there anyway...just to sleep and get ready for more fun.

My wife and I loved our experience. The room was nice, the service was great, and Star Trek is AWESOME! After walking on the strip Memorial Day weekend, we were so glad our hotel was off the strip. The convenience of the monorail is what made this trip so nice. Everyone should take advantage of this. We will definitely stay here again.

Awful Customer Service - posted on 06/01/2006

My husband and I were NOT pleased with the customer service at the LV Hilton and will not be back because of it. The food was pretty good. Barry Manilow was excellent. The pool was not great. The casino was nice. But, rude employees (for the most part) will prevent us from returning to the Hilton. I left with the impression that they didn't give a $%&# about their guests. We had some issues and no one (we spoke to 3 different supervisors/managers) seemed to care at all and weren't willing to resolve our issues. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! Plus, it's off the strip. Not very convenient.

The hotel is a lot older than I thought. We were missing lights in the bathroom and they were not replaced until the second day after the second call. The bath tub drainage was poor. I tried to use the fitness center but was told that it would be an extra charge of $20/day (The center was small and not a lot of equipment). I will not stay at this hotel again unless changes are made.

Hilton, not so good - posted on 05/24/2006

Upon arrival I noticed that the room was not cool enough and told the front desk. They said they would look into it. The next day , after unpacking I called and complained again and they said they would move me but they would fix it. I stayed. The faucet in the bathtub dripped all night and the front desk said the room was due for renavation. The beds were uncomfortable for a "Hilton". The clock radio was broken and would start making weird noises for no reason so I had to unplug it. I had stayed @ the Hilton several years ago and remember a pleasent experience. Not so this time.

The rooms are old but ok and considering you dont get much sleep in Vegas, I was pleased. The pool was good and the SPA was great, very relaxing. The breakfast buffet was great with a wide selection. If any of your plans require a taxi ride, make sure you leave before 10 pm and/or after 11pm. When the Barry Manilow concert lets out, the taxi wait is up to 35 - 45 min, use the monorail. A great time, a great stay.

This has to be the WORSE hotel bar none that I have ever spent time in. The staff is unateentive and the rooms . First in the tower with a kngsize bed and a broken down mattress on the side with the telephone. Ask for a mattress that would allow me to sleep through the night and was given a smaller dingy room with two beds at the end of the north tower by a busy elevator. One of the matresses was also broken down and thus the sleeping was miserable.. Save yourself from the disappointments at this hotel. HILTON, you should be ashamed. "NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!"

The first night we were ther they put us in a room with a Murphy bed and called it a queen....maybe this would have been true for little people. They tied though giving us a room with a jaccuzi tub. I'm not a tub person and I don't even use mine at home. The next night we moved into a smaller room with a bigger bed, some sleep at last.

I was traveling with my mom and they gave us one double bed at first and then the second room was in the midst of a major plumbing overhaul that the plumber told me would be done at the end of the day. Needless to say when we returned that night, it was not done. I also had another room with my son and husband in and they mixed up the reservations! The coffee shop was expensive for the quality, but the buffet was not appropriately stocked and the waiter was rude.
