Perfect location - posted on 01/16/2006

THe rooms were very large and we had a beautiful view of Cesars and Bellagio. We found the bed to be very comfortable. There really isn't much choice for quick meals, but there are plenty of things close by. Perfect for those not planning on spending much time in the hotel.

Good stay - posted on 11/01/2005

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo but were disappointed with the room service. Each time we called we were told a different amount would be charged to our room with regard to the room service delivery fee. No-one could tell us the same as the last person and we were usually charged a double delivery fee. It was a small disappointment in an overall lovely experience.

Just Fine - posted on 01/17/2006

The Flamingo Las Vegas is just fine. It isn't the best or the worst. The room was nice with the exception that the carpet was very dirty. The bed was comfortable. There was no coffee pot nor refrigerator... bummer. We upgraded to a "room with a view" for another $20/day. We enjoyed watching the Bellagio fountain and mountains in the morning were beautiful. The Buffet resaurant, with the waterfalls, waterfowl and fish views was very nice/tranquil. Food acceptable.

Convenient location - posted on 01/19/2006

If you want reasonable accomodations on the Las Vegas strip, consider the Flamingo. The location is close to ideal with the Bellagio and Caesar's Place across the street, the Aladin, Paris and Venetian short walks on the same side. This means shopping is a short walk whether you want upscale or moderate, major performance venues are 5-10 minute walks (e.g. "O" and Celine Dion). The hotel is moderate in price and quality with all the Vegas musts: casino and buffet. Staff was very helpful.

Worst Desk Staff and Check-In on the Strip - posted on 01/17/2006

I've stayed here several times, due to the low cost and convenient location. Check-in this last time took 1 1/2 hours at 11pm on a Wednesday night...and desk staff didn't so much as apologize. Stay here for the value, but you really get what you pay for: a cheap place to sleep.

Awesome Hotel - posted on 10/05/2005

My mom and I stayed at the Flamingo while in Vegas. The staff was helpful and very nice, the casino paid well and lots to choose from. Awesome pool, good food; though the prices of food and drinks were a little high. The grounds were overall the highlight of the Flamingo (as I am getting married at the Flamingo). I will always stay here when I come to Vegas and you should too.

A good deal for the price - posted on 10/04/2005

My husband & I got married in Vegas and stayed at the Flamingo. We had an awesome view of the Bellagio fountains from our hotel room and the room itself was clean and comfy. The service is excellent and the casino is highly entertaining. The only problem we had with this hotel was the food. The buffet was awful. The choices were sparse and bland. The location cant be beat, its minutes from everything in both directions. I would recommend the Flamingo to any traveler going to Vegas for the first time.

I stay here all the time. Great Location. GREAT Pool. Comp program sucks. You lose hundreds and just get a few bucks back on your comp card? Nonetheless, I always come back to the Flamingo. They give me a great VIP rate and you cant beat the location and the Pool.

The hotel is located in the middle of everything! It's not the nicest hotel but is for sure the perfect spot on the strip. The pool area was also awesome- One 21+ pool was "European" style so it took a bit to get used to. :) All in all a great hotel!

Wonderful Location - posted on 05/21/2007

I had a wonderful stay at the Flamingo. It's in a great location (right across from Caesar's and next to O'Sheas) and really in the middle of the strip. The views were great from either side of the hotel (pool or strip). The bathrooms were a bit dated but overall the room was very clean. I strongly recommend using the airport check-in as the check-in lines at the hotel are usually long. Great stay for the money.

We traveled to Vegas in May, and stayed at the Flamingo. The room was small and unimpressive. And good luck finding a chair at the pool! Better get there at 8 A.M. Good variety of food and shows, but the buffet is not the best. Margaritaville was fun. The courtyard is beautiful.

My night in hell - posted on 05/05/2007

We checked in late to this hotel at the start of a much anticipated vacation. We were told there was only 1 non-smoking room left so we had to either take it or leave it and the rate we were quoted on their website was $100 less than what we were charged. When we saw the room we were upset. The room was dirty, there were cigarette burns on the carpet, and there wasn't even a closet just hooks on the wall. Needless to say we checked out as soon as possible and went to a better hotel.

Enjoyable travel experience - posted on 04/26/2007

Our trip to the Flamingo was very pleasurable. The front desk staff were very helpful upon check in. You MUST request a view of the strip to fully enjoy the Flamingo. The room was sub par however the view totally compensated it's shortcoming. The gambling table minimums were too high for us novice gamblers however right next door is a casino named O'sheas that had low minimums and tons of excitement all the way to early morning sunrise. You can use your players card there b/c it is also a Harrah's casino.

The Flamingo is in a great location; right in the middle of the Strip. Directly across from Caesars and next to Harrahs (outdoor Carneaval bar w/great entertainment.) Pool looked great but it was too chilly to use it. Ticket show people in lobby were a bit annoying. Flamingo was a great experience for a great price.

No Penquins :( - posted on 04/04/2007

The Flamingo is in a fabulous location. We were in walking distance of many other casinos and fun things to do in Vegas (Bellagio Fountains, shopping at Caesar's Palace, the "Eiffel Tower" at Paris, etc.). My only disappointment was that there are no longer Penquins at the Flamingo! And the pool was very crowded, but we went in March, and some of the pools were not open yet. Overall, staying at the Flamingo was a great experience for a great price.

Room was very nice but carpet filthy. Moved a table and a white mark was in the carpet from the table not being moved. No pillow covers on pillows? what? Coke machines don't work. did not take dollar bills (went to floors above and below also no luck) Food prices astronomical. Ate out of the hotel for most meals. NO FOX CABLE. They purposely do that. Bad pr. Great location and would be a great place if they would just not try to screw us on the meals. Also, never got any free drinks while playing the slots. Never saw a waitress. Went down to Bill's and had a better time.

We checked into the hotel at the airport (no lines) and decided at the last minute to upgrade to the "GO" room. I am so glad we did!!! Our room was FANTASTIC! The first room we were in had a broken air conditioner so the hotel staff moved us in the middle of the night to a new room but they comped the upgrade fee and the bell hop was so helpful! These things happen, right? I highly recommend the new rooms to anyone staying at the Flamingo. The showers are AWESOME-the beds are OH SO comfortable-and the lightly is phenomenal! What can I say-I was VERY impressed! Great job Flamingo!

Hotel needs an upgrade - posted on 03/07/2007

Our first room was extremely small, and had an even smaller bathroom. It was also riddled with construction noise above, which started at 7AM. We were moved to an "executive suite" which was slightly larger, but the elevators were located completely across the hotel. Very inconvenient to with our bags, as it required us to carry them through the casino, and up a few small flights of stairs. Overall, unhappy with everything but the location on the strip.

Could tell halways were not vacumed often, rooms were dirty, sinks were never cleaned during our whole stay, mirrors had writing on them, had to clean our own slimey windows. No towels one day. Location is everything and this place has it. Staying at the Flamingo means you are in the heart of the strip. Views of the Ballagio fountains, views of Ceasars Place, good times Margaritaville, easy walking distance to all of the major properties and more. The rooms are pleasant enough and the new GO rooms have upgraded features that are a pleasant surprise. Love/dislike thing with the pools. Love the layout. The facilities are great but too crowded, perhaps restricting pools to GUESTS ONLY would help. Location is perfect--right in middle of and fun side of strip. Easy stagger back to hotel from funnest karaoke bar in town ("Tequila Joe's"). Most important feature: friendliness of Flamingo staff. They know how to take care of a couple of yokels who need a recharge following long New England winters.

Great location in the middle of the Strip, solid value, with solid ammenities and service. It is what it is, an older hotel, not the best of the best. If your a first time visitor looking for a good value & location, Flamingo fits the bill. Only gripe is that they did not have the room types we requested available. Gave us a double bed room, instead of a King, etc. Poker room was very slow in terms of getting into a game. Kept telling me I'd have a 10-15 min. wait & one hour later I'd still be standing there.

The Flamingo is right next to a great deal of things to do. We only took a cab one evening to go to a show...but that was only for laziness purposes. After the show we walked back. There truly was so much to do right around the Flamingo! Right inside the Flamingo is Jimmy Buffet's Magaritaville restaurant which is a Cheddars, Chili's type restaurant. Then there are two buffet restaurants on 1st level. There is a couple of pastry/breakfast/coffee shops as well for the lighter side of breakfast. The slot machines aren't as tight as some of the others(I was told).

Our room was clean and ready when we arrived at 11AM. Great view of Caesars Palace across the street from our room on the 21st floor. Adult pool was clean, but very crowded. Venturo was a good Italian restaurant and service the entire trip was great. Get a Total Rewards Card and futre stays will be reduced or free. A great place to stay and we will go back.

Flamingo Rooms need improvement - posted on 09/10/2006

We were told we were given a renovated room, completed in 2004. What a joke.....If they call that renovated, they need to find another desinger. We have stayed at the Flamingo several time before and found it very nice. But this time we were not as pleased. Room was just ok and we were very disappointed with the constant badgering we received in the lobby from the vacation and show hawkers. It shows no class. We will probably stay at the Venetian or Paris next time.

Stay for the Location - posted on 09/05/2006

The Flamingo is one of the oldest casino's on the Vegas Strip. However, it's location makes it the best choice for the serious Vegas visitor: Across from Caesar's Forum shops, next to Barbary Coast for cheap table games, and next to O'Shea's and their 18 hour, happy hour ($1 bottle beer). Don't stay here if wanting to stay at a mega casino with lavious amenities. Stay here, save money to spend on shopping, entertainment, and gambling. Room was clean and safe, all we needed in Vegas!

We stayed on the 23rd floor, which had a wonderful view of Vegas at night. Fairly large and comfortable bed. Rooms a little outdated and not cleaned throughly at all. Pool Ok but quite crowded although it seemed you could get a deck chair at all times and also a tendency to see floating beer bottles. Adult pool much nicer and quieter. Flamingo is definately in one of the best spots on the strip it is right opposite the Bellagio and is central. onwards Great express checkout via your TV which saves waiting in long ques to check out.

Great location, great pool, excellent service staff, facilities not too big/overwhelming, great for first Vegas visit. Rooms need coffee makers and fridges, need quick/fast food choices. Casino needs more washrooms. Quite pleased for first visit but likely will not stay there again for other resorts offer more of everything--shopping, brand-name restaurants, better decor. Enjoyed our stay!!

First time @ Flamingo. Check-in was a breeze since I used the one at the airport. Room was clean, but I had no view (a concrete wall !!! ). Also, some of the staff either didn't know or were too busy to answer questions. Overall for the money and location, Flamingo is great. Oh, by the way, did I mention the pool? It is the best thing about the Flamingo!

Great Stay! - posted on 08/28/2006

My husband and I had a great time at the Flamingo. The pool and the wildlife area was so lush, and we enjoyed Margaritas while wading in the 21 and over pool. The room was clean. All the staff at the hotel, from the people who cleaned the rooms to the room service people, were friendly and helpful. I didn't care for the smell of cigarette smoke in the casino (pretty much everywhere), but that's how it is in Vegas!

Enjoyed the Flamingo very much. Not what I'd call luxurious but the hotel has lots to offer and we found other guests and staff to be polite and fun. Great location, the pool was well-kept and relaxing. Casino was fun, nice restaurants and bars.Buffet really not bad for the money. Housekeeping was also good (plenty of towels/soap etc.). Beware the time-share sales people. A simple "No thank you" will usually suffice, but some are persistent.

I was given a suite for one night because they had no reserved standard rooms that I had booked months before. The suite had a nice view, but was outdated ( 1970'ish) and need of repairs (jaccuzi did not work). The room also had a musty odor.

We loved the location in the center of the strip. The swimming pool was awesome but we found there was trash under our beds when we arrived, mildew on the shower tiles and the housekeeping crew did now wipe things down as they should have. The room and the view (23rd floor) were super, however.

Terrible!!! - posted on 08/05/2006

We stayed at the Flamingo 7/31-8/3 & it was terrible! We stayed there 5 years ago & it was great, but not now! The carpet was filthy & wet in areas where condensation was dripping on it, the bathrooms were also bad, you wouldn't even want to get in the tub! We were on the 8th floor with a pool view, what they didn't tell us is that the bar at the pool plays VERY loud music til midnight & other nights til after 2 a.m.! We could hear it right through the windows making it extremely hard to sleep. We won't be back, there are MANY other places to stay while in Vegas!

The Flamingo was great. The staff was very helpful and informative. The pools were crowded but very nice. Drinks were normal for Vegas. The only downside were the time share people who hound you when you get off the elevator. But that's Vegas. Rooms are normal nothing special. A great deal for the central location. I recommend upgrading to a strip view room for 20 dollars a night. You can see the water show at the Bellagio. It's worth it! In front of the window is were my fiance proposed.

Pools wonderful-the best part you dont have to walk thru the casino to get to the pool/garden. Staff friendly helpful and attentive. Location convenient to everything. If you want the big mega-resort hotel stay there but if you want old-style vegas this is it and its Not outdated. We'll definately stay here again. Hands down one of the best on the Strip.

1st trip to Vegas, but not my last! The Flamingo is the perfect spot to be! It's very centrally located that made it possibe to walk to the other casinos and the free shows. The pool was amazing - waitresses @ the pool were terrific! Slots were very generous -waitresses bringing drinks were very attentive! Loved the real flamingos. The buffet was very good, as was hoagies and salads from another stand. Got room service for breakfast -it arrived promptly and was terrific! I didn't want to leave and I definately want to go back. I would stay at the Flamingo again and again.

We have stayed at the Flamingo twice and been thrilled both times. We arrive with a vacation state of mind, don't need deluxe accomodations, just clean and available. Since people are checking in and out at all hours, the rooms are constantly becoming available. We were given an upgrade for the first night when our room wasn't ready. The yogurt parfaits are an incredible lunch; I crave them still. The slots were generous; the shows very good; the check-in people great. The grounds are fantastic with weddings galore. Can't wait to go back to the Flamingo!

. The hotel is average, it is in a good location. My problm with the room was the bathroom, our toilet ran the whole trip which i did not complain about b/c i didnt feel like switching rooms, also the water pressure in the shower sucks I felt like I was still dirty with the trickling water. The pool is the best part but it gets PACKED!!! If you are not up by 8:30am and downstairs you can 4-get about swimming and having a seat. That part was the worse I wanted to sleep in on my trip but if i wanted to lay out I had to be up EARLY!! Other than that it was just average.

We had three rooms, first they gave us smoking room instead of non smoking, the other rooms key did not work, after changing the smoking room, they gave us a room, which I rank the worst room I have had in my life ( I travel a lot and stay at least 45 days in hotel every year). The manager was rude, and gave me an option of that or even a worse room.

We stayed for 7days/6 nights. The best part was its location - it was in the middle of the Strip, and the active nightlife was within walking distance. However, the room service was OK. Our complimentary Aquifina water bottles stopped after the second day, as did our clean towels and bedsheets. Nonetheless, checking in/out was easy and quick. The pool was awesome.

I've stayed here 6 times, this was 1st time since not a Hilton. Still very nice. Doesn't take walking forever to get to Pools, etc. "Good company". complaint #1: first hotel I've known to take coffee makers out ! Big Disappointment!!! And a long wait downstairs to pay $3. for your coffee. They said was due to offering Room Service or with $60 upgrade but called Room Srvc, and was "1 hour wait!" other complaint: charged $4.99 for a 6 oz. yogurt at cafe, when I added a "to go" to my breakfast. Pleeezee !!!! But location and views great, Casino floor people nice too.

I've been to Vegas many many times. The room rates were so cheap at the Flamingo and the location is so good that I thought that I would give it a try. Our original room had moldy showers and wet carpet?! Eeew. We did get upgraded to a newly remodled room, but it wasn't anything special. The staff was helpful and check-in/check-out was a breeze. If you're not on a tight budget, spend the extra $ and stay elsewhere!
