My husband and I had been traveling home to South Dakota from California with our 6 and 4 year old grandchildren. The hotel was 'kid friendly' with the pool and restaurant and it was an extra bonus to find out the children ate for free! A pleasant experience for all of us and we plan to stay there again on one of our future trips to California.

Lori checked us in and she was very friendly and interested in our travels.

The pool opened at 8:30 AM which was too noisy - too early!

Even though they over booked the poolside rooms, we still got one, feel bad for the person that did not. The staff was awesome, getting us whatever we requested!

The golf course was a big hit.

The room was smaller than expected.

The 197-room Holiday Inn Grand Island-Midtown provides comfortable affordable accommodation for both the business traveler and families on vacation. Items included with the room rate at this two-story, non-smoking full-service hotel are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, in-room coffee, a morning newspaper and parking. There are 12 meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 500 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include Mormon Island Recreation Park, the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer, horse racing at Fonner Park, the Island Oasis Water Park, Hastings Museum, Central Nebraska Gun Club, the Mid-Nebraska Speedway and shopping at the downtown antique malls which are one mile from the hotel.

This Holiday Inn offers great value and has a top notch team of employees full of helpful hints about the area sights and the best places to dine and shop. That is the view of several guests who enjoyed their stay here and said they would recommend the property to fellow travelers. The accommodation is nicely furnished and the property is well maintained. Tip from those who have stayed here: If you take breakfast here choose items off the menu which is a better deal than the breakfast buffet.
