Nice hotel, not a good location if you like to walk and soak up local atmospere, but sights convenient by car. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable and affordable for a family.

Clean, bright, great breakfast buffet and pretty plush for the price.

The pool was freezing and the views were of the train station.

The hotel is not located in a convenient location to walk to the downtown attractions due to the interstate and road construction. However, the shuttle service is outstanding. They were always there within 15 minutes of calling them and would take you and pick you up for all the downtown areas.

The shuttle service is great. It will take you anywhere within 3 miles.

There is road construction all around the hotel.

The Residence Inn by Marriott Saint Louis Downtown is the first and only extended stay hotel in downtown. The eight-story, non-smoking hotel has three different types of accommodation - studios, and one, and two-bedroom suites. Items included with the room rates are an extensive breakfast buffet, an evening social hour, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The property is a short drive from eight golf courses. Area landmarks and attractions include the St. Louis Gateway Arch, the Scottrade Center, Busch Stadium, President Casino, Lacledes Landing, the St. Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis Zoo. The inn has three meeting rooms for social or business functions. The largest can accommodate 72 guests.

All the suites have a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and conventional oven, full-size refrigerator with icemaker, toaster, dishwasher, coffeemaker and a full set of cutlery and crockery. The bathrooms have a bathtub and separate shower.

Regular visitors to Saint Louis say this is the best place to stay because of the spacious accommodation, reasonable rates and the free shuttle that operates within a three-mile radius of the property. It is particularly useful in the evenings since most downtown restaurants do not have parking. The employees get got top marks for being attentive and friendly. Tips from former guests: Get a room on the west side of the inn and you will have a great view of downtown.
