My daughter and grandchild stayed here several years ago when it was under different management. It was shoddy and the restaurant was mediocre. It eventually lost its Holiday Inn affiliation. Under new ownership, the building is sparkling, a much better restaurant was installed and the staff is exceptional in all areas. They've regained the Holiday Inn affiliation and I consider the Riverfront hotel one of the best Holiday Inns I've stayed in.

Clean accommodations, extremely helpful and courteous staff, great pool and excellent restaurant. My grandchildren, ages 3 and 5, had a blast.

On demand movies were a bit princely.

The rooms were nice, clean, and quiet.

The location was a bit far for some things, but not a problem due to the quality of the rooms.

We thought it was a great place to stay and dine. We also liked the location.

We arrived a little late, and the restaurant was open and was still serving dinner and half price appetizers. They were fantastic, as was the service.

We called and asked for pillows and they never showed up.

The pet-friendly Holiday Inn St Joseph Riverfront comprises 169 affordable rooms equally suited to the business traveler or families on vacation. Items included with the room rate at this five-story, full-service hotel are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper, in-room tea and coffee and parking. The hotel is located in the historic downtown area 40 miles north of Kansas City International Airport. There are nine meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 450 guests. The property is on site of the first Pony Express weigh station responsible for delivering and receiving mail from California. Area landmarks and attractions include the St. Josephs Pony Express Museum, the Jesse James Museum, Missouri Western State University and the Terrible's River Boat Casino.

Many visitors to Saint Joseph who selected this Holiday Inn for their stay were pleased with their choice. The rooms were attractively decorated and spotlessly clean. The rates were reasonable lower than most Holiday Inns and the cheerful team of employees did a great job providing helpful hints about area sightseeing and dining. Those who dined at the on-site Houlihan's Restaurant said the meals were excellent not as expensive as they had expected. Several guests said they had no problem recommending the property to others and planned to say here themselves on future visits to the area.
