Jackson is a great place to visit, especially if you’re with your four-legged friend, and I don’t mean Lassie. Mr. Ed would have loved Jackson. The rolling hills make it a rider’s paradise. The Flickerwood Arena has many horse shows, rodeos and other great events throughout the year. Even if you don’t have a horse, you can still enjoy the activities.
All aboard! Climb on Engine No. 5 at the St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway Co. This vintage train makes its way across the beautiful countryside giving you a fantastic chance to see it all. Some rides include a dinner as well… a great idea for a date.
Jackson’s American Indian heritage is honored with the beautiful Indian Sculpture located at Hope and Main Street. This corner is also the location of the Jackson Mural. Old McKendree Chapel was built back in 1819, making it one of the oldest Protestant churches west of the Mississippi River. It is definitely worth a visit.
