The 80-room Comfort Inn Columbia, formerly a Fairfield Inn provides budget-priced accommodation well suited to both the business and leisure traveler. The motel is near the University of Missouri-Columbia and three miles from the Columbia Regional Airport. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet served from 6am until 9am, local telephone calls, and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The non-smoking hotel is close to Les Bourgeois Winery and Vineyard and the Boone County Fairgrounds, which hosts the annual Boone Country Fair. The University of Missouri-Columbia is home to the Hearnes Center multipurpose arena and Faurot Field. The nearby Columbia Shopping Mall features dozens of stores, a food court and full-size carousel.

This hotel got good reviews when it was a Fairfield Inn and continues to get them as a Comfort Inn. Previous guests enjoyed the low rates, the hot tub and the free continental breakfast. Words of warning from those in the know: If you plan to sleep a little longer, you may miss breakfast. Service stops at 9am. All the guestrooms have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, television with cable movie and news channels and pay-per-view movies, pullout sofa bed, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and telephone with voicemail. Some rooms have the added benefit of a microwave oven and refrigerator.

Amenities offered

This hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and a fitness center. The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but there is a Bob Evans and Steak n’ Shake adjacent to the property. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a fax and copy machine available for guest use, valet cleaning services and vending machines.
