St. Paul, Minnesota’s capital, is located beside the beautiful Mississippi River. In addition to having the Mississippi it also has a few lakes, the more popular one being Lake Como. Considering the city is named after a saint it’s no surprise that one of the major drawing cards is the impressive Cathedral of Saint Paul. Situated on Summit Hill you’ll recognize its copper dome from around the city. This is one church you definitely don’t want to miss.
Tourists visit this great city throughout the year but there’s definitely an influx of guests during the Minnesota State Fair where over one million people take part in the activities. The State Fairgrounds get used throughout the year as well though so keep your eyes and ears open for shows, exhibits and festivals that might be running while you’re visiting.
One of St. Paul’s more famous residents is Charles M. Schulz, creator of Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang. That might help explain why there are a few large Snoopy statues located throughout the city.
Grand Avenue and Stillwater are two areas that’ll definitely interest the shoppers traveling with you. For those interested in the sciences, head over to the Science Museum of Minnesota.
