Exquisite Historic Hotel - posted on 01/02/2006
The hotel itself was wonderfully put together with its historic value. The rooms were roomy and clean. The waterpark was wonderful, but I did not get to use their ice rink. The only thing I could say needed improvement was the staff attitude. The desk supervisor had a snotty attitude on her face (she did not smile), and the lifeguards at the waterpark looked like they just did not enjoy their jobs.
Don't plan on getting any sleep - posted on 05/08/2005
I have tried this hotel 2 tmes now and both were a disappointment. Both times my room looked over the roof tops of the parking lot and ice arena. The airconditioning units were so loud and the room furnace/airconditioner were so loud I couldn't sleep. Over looking the back of the building you don't really hear street noise, but you catch the maintenance of the building. Beds not good for sleeping...I won't stay again..!
I've changed my mind - posted on 12/23/2004
Having stayed here early last year, I have to say I was underwhelmed. Service was shoddy, it didn't seem clean, subpar food. I honestly did not think I would return. We stayed again for a child's party weekend and I am blown away at the changes - totally different place! WONDERFUL service, white glove test clean, and food so good you would think you were fine dining. Hats off to the magician who performed this magic - you have a returning family for life!!!

While the indoor waterpark was the initial draw - my wife and I could not be happier with our entire experience here. Attentive, friendly service at every turn, well appointed rooms and gorgeous public areas! I have recommended to all my friends with and without children. The staff makes The Depot one of the best hotel stays in my life. Will come back soon!!

Our family of four stayed while visiting the U of M. Our 11 year olds loved the water park. The street noise was awful. Sirens all night long! Attractive rooms and common areas. We wouldn't stay again.
