The 583-room Marriott Minneapolis City Center provides luxury accommodation designed for the upmarket leisure and pleasure traveler. The 31-story, non-smoking hotel has 25 meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest, the Grand Portage Ballroom can accommodate 1,800 guests. The hotel is connected to the shopping, entertainment, and business districts through the world famous skyway system. Area landmarks and attractions include seven golf courses, the Metrodome, Target Center, the University of Minnesota, Guthrie Theater, Orpheum Theater, State Theater, the Mall of America, Minneapolis Convention Center, Block E, the Minnesota Zoo and the State Capitol.

Many visitors to Minneapolis say this is the best place to stay in the city. Everything here is first rate from the friendly and efficient staff to the fluffy towels in the spacious renovated bathrooms. Those who spent more for a room on the concierge level said it was money well spent. Several guests said there was less expensive accommodation nearby but said they would stay here on future visits to Minneapolis for the pleasure of the extra comfort and service. All the guestrooms, and 86 suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, refrigerator, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and two-line telephone with voicemail.

The hotel’s Northern Shores Grill is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the Lobby Bar serves lunch and dinner. Room service is available from 6am until midnight.
