Customer Reviews for Best Western Normandy Inn

As Stated - posted on 05/24/2007

We were in MN to visist colleges and this was close to the University campus so we could drive there in the AM yet close enough to the downtown area so we could enjoy walking to dinner. The hotel was quiet nd clean.

a good experience - posted on 05/13/2007

The room was large and very clean. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The check-in staff were condescending in their attitude and acted like they were doing us a favor by checking us in.

I would go else where - posted on 12/24/2006

This hotel smelled musty, & was dark & dreary. We stayed here to be close to downtown & the U of M. We were in town a weekend that the Twins played, & as a result, prices were inflated. Had I spent $40.00 less, (what rooms are now, 12-06) I probably wouldn't feel as negatively as I do. I would stay farther from downtown, rather that stay here again.

Musty smell in the entire hotel but that seems to be a recurring theme in anything under $150/night these days. Cookies were a nice touch, be nice if there was a lounge in the hotel but otherwise was a good experience. DO NOT TOUCH THE PIANO!

*Close to Twins or Vikings *Close to the Skyway, and therefore, all downtown attractions *Exterior makes it seem out-of-place (but then, so do I)

The hotel was nice and the rooms were very large and clean. The hallway and lobby both smelled VERY musty

Good clean hotel - posted on 07/19/2006

Good clean hotel in the downtown area would be better if it connected to skywalk. Staff could have been a little more accomodating.

We stayed over the 4th of July Weekend. Great find in the Big City. The kids loved the Pool and New Sauna

Just say NO! - posted on 07/03/2006

On-line reservations were not found, had to re-book onsite ( took 30 extra minutes). The Elevator was broken. Sewer backed up into shower. Very, very noisy (single pane windows). Musty smell in hall way. The staff could care less, management never returned my calls or e-mails. Co-worker had the same issues. The only plus, the room and courtyard/pool were beautiful.

Rooms Smell - posted on 06/24/2006

Older hotel, but has musty smell in hallways and rooms. My daughter thought it smelled like cats. Clean enough for older room. Hair dryer looks and performs like something out of the 60's, bring your own ladies! They didn't honor the rate they gave me over the phone. Was only $5 more so I paid it. It was cheap, but I'm willing to pay alittle more for a brighter, clean smelling room

Great place! - posted on 05/18/2006

Our family stays here for Twins games several times a year. This is a unique hotel is a very convenient location. It is close to light rail to go to the Mall of America, too.

A great place! - posted on 02/22/2006

The rooms are a good size and clean, people are friendly, cookies and free breakfast are great! We stay in the Twin Cities quite a bit and this was our first time at this hotel. Could be the most underrated hotel in Minneapolis.

Poor Stay - posted on 02/03/2006

When we arrived we waited for two other guests. Then we waited for the clerk to finish her paperwork. Then we waited while she took a phone call. Then we waited while she got us registered. Yes, again, we waited while she answered a staff question. Finally, gave us our room key and informed us in a stiff voice that only club rooms had microwaves and refrigerators. We had to use the refrigerator and microwave in the breakfast room and cart our food/beverage to our room. No dining service. We were not informed that there were cookies and beverages available at night in the downstairs lounge (which, as far as I can tell) was not in use. Everything you would want to see or any place you want to shop is at least five blocks away. I would not stay there again.

Great find in MSP - posted on 01/16/2006

We have stayed here several times, and have always been pleased. the rooms are clean and comfortable, free breakfast and hot chocolate chip cookies before bedtime in lobby. Amazing value and find in a downtown location! this has become our hotel of choice in Minneapolis, and we've stayed at some higher rated ones.

whenever we are attending an event at the MetroDome, we always stay at the Normandy. The rooms are clean and spacious. The pool area is always clean and usually not overcrowded. The staff is pleasant and always willing to assist you. We definitely will be back...

We Enjoyed Our Visit - posted on 05/14/2004

We enjoyed our visit to your hotel, Accommodation were cheerful, clean and quiet. We found it to be convenient for the downtown area and near to the covention centre. We enjoyed the walking. Staff service was friendly, knowledge regarding the local sites & well defined directions to Mall of America and other local attractions. We would stay again.
