This all-suites property is now the Hawthorne Suites, located in the Southfield city center, and has facilities to suit both the leisure and business traveler. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, an evening social hour, high-speed Internet access, parking, a morning newspaper and local phone calls. The property is within driving distance of the Automotive Hall of Fame, the Woodward Dream Cruise, Oakwood Hills Country Club, the Cranbrook Art Museum, Detroit Zoo and the Motown Historical Museum. There are one and two-bedroom suites and each come with a fully equipped kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas.

New name, new management and a new look. These three items have impressed visitors to this inn. Those who had stayed here when it was a Marriott property said the new management had persevered many of the good things – including the friendly personnel – and improved the accommodation. All the suites have a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and conventional oven, full-size refrigerator with icemaker, toaster, dishwasher, coffeemaker and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, fireplace, pullout sofa bed, cable television with movie channels, VCR player, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a two-line telephone with voicemail, speakerphone and data ports.

This inn has an outdoor swimming pool and a basketball court. The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but there is a convenience store in the lobby. Nearby restaurants include the Copper Canyon and Brewery, Fish Bones, Mortons of Chicago and TGI Fridays. The 24-hour front desk has information on area attractions and events and safe deposit boxes. There are picnic tables and a barbecue grill in the hotel’s courtyard. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry and a grocery shopping service.

From Detroit/Wayne County Airport (DTW): Take Interstate 94 east to the Southfield Freeway north (Route 39). From the Southfield Freeway exit onto the Lodge Freeway north (US Highway 10) and continue to the Evergreen/Ten Mile Road exit. Proceed north on Evergreen to Eleven Mile Road. The hotel is located on Central Park Boulevard south of Eleven Mile Road and west of Evergreen.
