GREAT hotel!!!! - posted on 08/23/2006

We had a wonderful stay at the Westin. The rooms were out of this world. We have a one year old, and they had the "real" crib set up for us and a cute little mat in front of the crib. The king bed was awesome and everything else on it. The service was great. The restaurant was expensive, and not a lot to choose from, but the room and service made up for that!! Thanks Westin for a night to remember.

WOW - posted on 05/09/2007

The bed was worth the money. Most overnight stays for me just represent a very few hours of uncomfortable sleep, back pain, followed by a bad shower. The Westin was non of this. The most comfortable bed I have slept in! Great 2 headed shower, wonderful stay, with Starbucks in the room!!! The staff was sharp, and helpful. The hotel was very presentable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Expected More - posted on 12/20/2006

Decent hotel, but extremely dark and dreary inside. For the cost, they could offer more amenities -- no HBO (they play a Showtime loop 24 hours a day with the same two shows on it). Internet access costs $10/day -- I've gotten free Internet and HBO at the Hampton Inn! The service was decent, but the cleaning staff had a nasty habit of slamming doors at night. Service in general could have been a lot crisper -- valet parking was a little slow, too. The restaurant inside the hotel was okay -- again, pricey for the quality of the food. I wouldn't stay there again.

Love It! - posted on 11/13/2006

I stayed there for two weeks for an airline training class and hated to leave. The beds are truely Heavenly! It's amazing how quiet the hotel is considering where it's located. Service was great and DEMA is fabulous.

Good for some - posted on 10/19/2006

This appears to be a convenient hotel because it is attached to the airport, but that only works if you are flying Northwest. All the other terminals are a bus ride away. You can not go into the airport for meal service unless you have a boarding pass for that day, and the menu here is pricey and very limited. I paid more for dinner than I did for the room and I had only a soup and salad.

Westin Detroit is Heavenly - posted on 04/22/2006

From the room to the dining facilities to the charm of the bartender, we wanted to stay longer than our one night. Walking from the airport into the hotel is a major PLUS!

Amazing Hotel, but food options are lacking - posted on 10/07/2005

I stayed at this hotel for three days, and was VERY impressed with the location, ameneties and service. The food in the restaurant was good, but limited. Another dining option would put this hotel over the top especially since you are isolated in the center of a massive airport. (There are countless dining options in the terminal, but you have to have a boarding pass to get in.) This is a beautiful hotel!

Heavenly Beds! - posted on 04/08/2005

Wonderful place to stay, the beds are great! The only prob. I had is that they billed me $2 for using a phone card, and it was not stated in the room that there would be such charge. They then billed me for a $6 bottle of water I did not drink. All charges were removed. However, it was something I did not want to deal with. Watch your bill! I would stay again, definately!

Inconvenienced - posted on 04/03/2005

Stayed 3 times for seminar. Hotel beautiful but service stinks in restaurant. All visits cappuccino machine broke. Ran out of soy milk brought 1/2 glass, 1/2 hour to get served, took forever to get check, used their tips for change. Ordered wine to room called twice. Took 45 minutes to get, charged $11 to bring it to room. To get into gift/coffee shop the front desk has to open it. The chef dropped a plate of bacon and picked it up with bare hands then served it. Comforter had coffee spilled on bottom, not able to enjoy the "heavenly" bed.

Totally surprised - posted on 02/17/2005

I hope a review such as mine will not be a cause for raising prices, lol, but I would go back to Detroit Westin again.

Simply convenient - posted on 10/13/2004

I've stayed here several times, and always look forward to my stay. Providing a very serene and relaxing lobby/ dining area. A very nice bar, with exceptional service from everyone. And the one thing I have always liked about Westin hotels ( At least the ones I?ve stayed at in Pittsburgh, Denver, Washington D.C. Detroit, and New York) it their rates. They should be higher than the Ritz. Flying Northwest into Detroit? I highly advise you check this one out. And no, even though they show a 737 out side the window as a view, you hear nothing.
