Clean room, close to the express way and airport. If shopping is desired malls within two miles, general purpose stores within half mile.

The room was clean and quiet.

The breakfast was weak. and sparse.

I've been staying at this hotel yearly for about the past 6 years since it was the Excel Inn, they always try to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is neat and clean.

Very convenient location, great price, cooperative staff.

Back door near our room was never locked, even though signage states that it will be locked at night for safety.

The 109-room Exel Inn of Grand Rapids provides affordable and comfortable accommodation for both pleasure and business traveler. The rooms are well equipped for an economy hotel and the property is two miles from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. The hotel has a complementary shuttle to the terminal. Other items included in the room rates are a continental breakfast, parking and local telephone calls. The two story property is southeast of the city and is 12 miles from downtown. The Woodland and Centerpointe shopping malls are two miles away and the Van Andel Arena is a 10-mile drive.

Former visitors to this inn said it offers great value for the money. There is better accommodation nearby but it will cost considerably more than staying at this Exel Inn. There is also other budget accommodation nearby but no as clean and well maintained as this property. Minor gripes: No premium cable channels and no elevator. This is a two storey inn.
