Classic Elegance! - posted on 03/06/2006

The Grand Plaza is a beautifully elegant historical hotel! I'm always a little weary to stay in "old" hotels because they're not always maintained, but the Grand Plaza is imacculate top to bottom! We stayed in the older tower on the 9th floor, and our room was sparkling clean and newly decorated. It had a beautiful bathroom with a huge marble shower and tub. I was highly impressed with the entire experience! The spa/pool/fitness area is very nice, but small...that's my only complaint!

Overpriced - posted on 02/15/2006

This is a fine hotel, just not worth the price. I've stayed in far better, for half the cost. Room's dusty, Tower windows should be washed more frequently

Service was #1 - posted on 02/02/2006

Service was impeccable. Room was super clean and view from my tower corner room was great. Restaurants offered superb dining experience, but was pricey. My bathroom had shower stall, but no tub. Also didn't have a coffee maker. Location is convenient to Convention Ctr. and Ford Presidential Museum (excellent!).

Seminar / Workshop - posted on 10/08/2005

I do not mean to complain this is one beautiful hotel and well staffed with what I thought were very good people, willing to do their jobs. The views and the location were great. Did not care for the extra charge to use the internet... The bathrooms were small and the walls were thin in the guest rooms on the historical side of the hotel. Do use the self park if you are budget minded.

32nd anniversary - posted on 07/07/2005

Spebt the weekend in the tower suite. Great view of the city. Tower club was nice with good service. Dinner in the 1913 room was out of this world.

Incredible - posted on 03/10/2005

I cannot even begin to articulate what an incredible experience I had while staying at The Amway Grand Plaza. We originally were only going to stay one night but enjoyed the hotel, the staff, the surrounding and environment (in the hotel) so much that we stayed an additional night. The staff was OUTSTANDING! From the valets (an army of them when we checked in) being gracious, accomodating, helpful and just plain NICE, to the check in clerk and the bellhop - he was an absolutley adorable older gentleman. What a delightful individual he was. Not only did he handle and place our luggage with care, he offered to get us ice and inquired to other needs. Just delightful. Sandra our concierge was exceptional. Knowledgeable, friendly and ever so accomodating. The hotel was impeccable. Clean. Fresh. Beautiful. Outstanding. Honestly, I just can't say enough wonderful things about it. There is no doubt that I shall return. Thank you all for making my stay so incredible!

Could be great! - posted on 02/03/2005

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! From the lobby to the rooms you will be impressed. The only negative thing I noticed was at check-in. They didn' t seem to know what was going on. Check-out was much better.

Rude staff and Extra Charges - posted on 11/16/2004

The staff was extremely rude and they charge you $5 to use the on site gym/swimming pool. Nice hotel, but I think they think that it's nicer than it really is.
