Customer Reviews for Doubletree Hotel Dearborn

Feedback - posted on 01/25/2006

My main objection was very loud bouncy music in the lobby and by the elevators. I was told that it could not be adjusted. Also, the elevators were slow and there didn't seem to be enough for the traffic. Staff was nice but not very helpful. I believe some breakfast should be included for the price(the restaurant is expensive)and when I asked for a feedback card at the front desk I was told that there weren't any. Only one person manned the front desk when we checked in and there were many to wait on. No morning paper either. Thanks for asking.

Service could have been better if the customer service associate at the front desk did not bill my credit card twice for the same transaction. I had to complain before I got a refund.

Wait 'til it changes hands - posted on 10/31/2005

Watch out! The real picture at this Dearborn hotel is nothing like what's shown on the web site. The lobby is torn up, and many of the rooms are out of service for remodelling. It's noisy during much of the day, so don't count on an afternoon nap. However, it's centrally located, the staff is friendly and generally helpful, and the pool and exercise area are just fine. There are wide discrepancies in room rates, depending on who you use to book reservations, but all web rates are somewhat less expensive than those quoted by directly calling the hotel. Consider waiting until after the remodel is finished, at which point this will be a DoubleTree hotel.

Not happy - posted on 08/18/2005

I was not happy with this hotel. Or room was a non-smoking room that smelled of old smoke. It also had a very damp feeling even our sheets felt damp. Lastly, we had a king size bed and sofa/bed in our room. After the first night we went down to the front desk and told them that the sofa bed was missing half of the springs that hold the mattress up, they assured us that they would fix this or change our room. They did give us free breakfast the first day because of the sofa bed. The second night of our stay was not any better. We returned back to our room at 10:00 pm and found about 20 kids just sitting on the floor in the hallway the next room down. They were quiet but it was not something we thought was acceptable. They did not fix the sofa bed so once again our son had to sleep on a very lopsided mattress for the 2nd night in a row.. We woke up at 1:30am to the room next to us with a child and adult (both females) singing or practicing a song over and over again. So over all we did not like this hotel and for a 3 star we thought that things would be better. This is not a place I would ever recomend any one to stay. We were not happy one bit with this hotel.
