Customer Reviews for Detroit Marriott At the Renaissance Center

Nice spot for an anniversary celebration - posted on 05/09/2007

Not sure this room is worth the full price, but it was worth the rate I paid with a variety of discounts. Smallish room, but you absolutely cannot beat the view of Detroit, Ontario, the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair from the upper floors of this hotel. Comfortable furnishings, spotlessly clean, many dining choices. No indoor pool, though, which surprised me.

Solid but not spectacular - posted on 11/23/2006

Room showed visible signs of wear & tear a could have used a makeover; decor was standard Marriott. Extremely inefficient system for bellman/car retrival; took close to an hour to get our luggage down and retrieve car. Location is excellent if you have business in downtown Detroit.

Nice Hotel - posted on 07/01/2006

Our stay at the hotel was nice. The hotel was clean and very noice. Our only complaint was that we asked the front desk person at the front desk where the food court and she said there wasn't one which we knew was incorrect. Our friends stayed there and told us about it. We speny a lot of time looking for it which I didn't appreciate.

This was a first rate hotel experience. The Marriott folks were courteous and helpful. The hotel is beautifully appointed, well kept and is in a perfect location. We will definitely stay there the next time we are in Detroit. We highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful View!! - posted on 03/26/2006

I just want to say the room, bed and view were great!!! The staff was wonderful and service incredible. I just want to comment on the rate of parking which is $20 which was very expensive and the wait for your car if you had to leave was at least 20-30 minute wait. I also want to add that the Starbuck's was a bit disappointing because there were gnats in the the pastry case and the staff was aware of this. For the type of hotel this is, that should have been taken care of immediately!! But, all in all, I had a very nice time!!

AUTO SHOW VISITOR - posted on 02/01/2006

We stayed in August but in the Junior Suite, curious to see what a regular room looked like-MAGNIFICENT! The view of the city and Canada was breathtaking! The hotel is located in the GM World Center, very exciting considering my husband loves cars. It was a wonderful Anniversary trip to the Autoshow! The price is the best for the views, rooms, and service. The location makes up for there being no pool. But who needs a pool when there is so much onsite. The restaurants, the Starbucks, even just sitting in the beautiful lobby to relax?it?s wonderful!!

Beautiful View - posted on 12/27/2005

I am from Detroit and had never stayed here until my family reunion. It was awesome! They lost our reservation, but the 2 bedroom Junior Suite on the 68th Floor made up for it!!!! I will be staying here again for my anniversary in Jan 2006!

No pool - posted on 11/01/2005

When I was Online looking at this hotel, it showed a pool room in the picture. When my wife and I got there we were looking forward to relaxing in the nice pool we saw online. Unfortunately, we soon found out there was no pool and we both were a little disappointed. Other than that, the room was very nice and there was other things to do around the area.

Took my kids to the Tigers game, walked from the hotel and to the park and back. We could see inside the stadium from our room. I love this hotel, and the new park by the river is stunning.

I'm from Detroit and stayed here on my wedding night and I have to say I have NEVER slept on a bed before or since as wonderful as ours. The hotel is beautiful and I only regret was not being able to stay longer. Definitely my new favorite stop when I come home to visit!

Two Day Stay At The Marriott Detroit Renaissance Center - posted on 04/28/2004

Enjoyed very much, the staff was very helpful and courteous. Room service was excellent. Access to the lower levels of the tower no good for elderly people. Need elevator service not escalators.
