The rooms were large and clean while the bathroom was showing signs of age. A major complaint was the central elevator bank. Besides the fact you could hear the binging bell for the elevator as it reached the floor above/below you, it was inconvient to the folks who had rooms at either end of the floor. Be prepared for a hike! Also the parking is far away from the building. Otherwise, had a great time, would stay there again!

If you gotta be in Detroit (ewww) you gotta stay here. The hotel has an opulent feel to it, the rooms are modern, and the price is right. You are just on the outskirts of Detroit in the suburb of Dearborn, which is a relatively nice, safe place to be.

Hotel was beautiful, with an impressive lobby area, welcoming floor lobbies. Room service was great!
Here's an honest take - posted on 04/28/2006
This hotel's lobby and public areas are beautiful. The rooms are clean, but are small. The heating/AC in the rooms is a special "quiet" system, but as such, you cannot regulate it as much as a normal in-room unit. If you get about 3 bodies in the room, it heats up badly! We were dying for the air to come on, but it seems as though the hotel regulates the allowable temp. range in the rooms. The system comes on when it feels like it, and doesn't directly blow any air on you. You can't hear it running, but you can't feel it either!

We went to Detroit to see a Tigers game and the Motown and Ford museums with two 13 year old boys. The hotel was well located and staff was helpful with directions. The mall across the street does not allow people under 18 inside unaccompanied by an adult after 5 p.m., which would have been nice to know when you checked in with teens. Large group at hotel at same time seemed to overwhelm desk staff/bar/restaurant. Cleaning staff was great. Rooms large and spacious. Pleasant stay.

This hotel has a beautiful lobby but once you're past that it has nothing you could not get at a third the price. Service was average and in some cases below average. We checked out after two nights and found another hotel. Don't stay here; it's over rated and over priced.

My boyfriend and I drove up from Ohio to see a Michigan/ Michigan State football game. We spent the night before the game here. We had a great time; room was nice and it was close by to shopping and dining (and the game)!! :)

Beautiful lobby and glass elevators, good service. However, once you get past the lobby, the hotel is nothing special. Our room was clean but looked more like Holiday Inn than a 4-diamond hotel. In the evening we tried to go to the rotating "Rotunda" rooftop bar featured in the online advertising but learned that it has been closed for months. The alternative, "Archimedes" in the lobby was nearly empty and we left too after 1 drink. Overall it was OK and comparable to a typical hotel but for the price I was expecting a little bit more.

Beautiful property, but rooms need some work. Front desk staff were nice. Buffet meal in the "cafe" type restaurant was strange. Very odd assortment. Food was not very good. Staff in restaurant somewhat odd. Members of beer can collectors "club" were very rowdy at another table, and management didn't handle it appropriately. . . .okay place if you get a deal.
