EXCELLENT HOTEL. - posted on 05/09/2005

FROM THE CONTEMPORARY DECOR RIGHT DOWN TO THE EXTREMELY FAST AND COURTEOUS STAFF. THIS HOTEL IS NESTLED IN AN EXTREMELY QUIET SIDE ROAD NEXT TO THE FLEET CENTER OF BOSTON AND THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT. THE PENTHOUSE ROOM WE STAYED IN WAS WELL WORTH IT.

The Onyx is a Keeper - posted on 04/08/2007

We go to Boston on a pretty regular basis and this is the first time staying at the Onyx. We were very happy. Great location, very clean, nice rooms. The staff was extremely professional and nice. Lots of good places to eat, short walk to the North End, Fanieul Hall, Boston Common, etc. The Ruby room was a nice place to relax. No complaints.

This hotel was wonderful! The entire staff was very pleasant and always helpful. The hotel is less than a block from the Garden. And was approx. 4 blocks from Quincy Market/Fanuel Hall area. The beds were very comfortable and our room was nice and quiet. Will surely stay here again!

A One Time Attempt - posted on 01/05/2007

The Onyx is a really beautiful hotel with funky decorations and a very helpful and friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again except that the location is in a terrible neighborhood. There isn't much around to do and there are no restuarants nearby other than the 7-11 and an Au Bon Pain. There is a subway stop at North Station only 2 blocks away, but the neighborhood is pretty seedy at night if you're by yourself.

Room was too small or bed was too big. Noisy heating system. Only valet parking aavailable. Other than these issues it is a prettty good hotel. Great staff!!!

grossly overpriced. Hotel is the worse boutique-type hotel we have used. Very poor quality. Rooms far too small.

Great choice!! - posted on 09/09/2006

The Onyx is in a VERY convientent location if you will not be renting a car. It is only one block from North Station and about 2 blocks from the Green and Orange subway lines. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The only down side was that the hotel placed a hold on my credit card for $200 (as most hotels do), but did not release the funds for one week. The experience there, however, was great!

Great boutique hotel. a bit funky in style, close to the North Station t-stop, which is convenient.

My family was treated with the utmost attention by the staff the entire stay. Our 2 year old made it eventful but the staff understood and we did not feel like we were a bother. I would recommend the hotel and plan on returning soon.

Great Stay! - posted on 08/04/2005

The hotel staff was the best! Our room was really clean although a little damp sometimes due to the humidity outside. The beds were really comfy! The decor is a little funky wtih checkered carpets.

I was in Boston alone, for an interview. Expensive for me, but a good value. Staff people are the best---helpful, efficient, kind. Beautiful rooms, very clean. Lots of doodads. The bed was excellent but sheets not big enough. Not many TV channels, they want you to buy their movies. Skimpy view, but super location---it's on a side street, kind of quiet and private. A block from Fleet Center, five minutes walk (really) to Faneuil Hall or subway. Try the Boston Beer Works for food. It's two short blocks away and surprisingly quiet at off times.
